📺 "I'd say we’re in the equivalent of the early 2000s. Property cat #modeling emerged before any major catastrophes, but then we had events like the Northridge earthquake and Hurricane Katrina. After those events, demand for property cat modeling increased." "Similarly, in #casualty, we started modeling before casualty cats, and then you have per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), or opioids, and whatever's coming next.” 👉 With a recent announcement of Praedicat acquisition by Moody's, Robert Reville joined The Insurer TV casualty panel at Rendez-Vous de Septembre #RVS2024 in Monte Carlo earlier this month. Among other topics, he outlined how Praedicat had modeled the expected cost to corporations from #PFAS litigation. 📽 Watch The Insurer TV video here: https://lnkd.in/gUrX6y2x 🗞 Read the Moody's and Praedicat announcement here: https://lnkd.in/emqvEPsj

Help - catastrophe! Think of this scenario: * a cyclone hits and damages a lot of buildings in your town * nearly everyone's building has damage but there are only 2 builders that live in town and they can't keep up with all the repair work Your insurer will pay the extra or escalated costs to help rebuild your business property by covering the costs to bring in other builders. This can apply to strata buildings as well. Ask us if you have catastrophe cover in your insurance policy today. ----- There are restrictions to this benefit: * the Insurance Council or other authority has to declare the event a catastrophe
