Following the updated KCD program guidelines, only 30 #KubernetesCommunityDays were confirmed for 2025. (We had 35 of them in 2024.) Definitely missing KCD Munich, KCD Austria, and some other events on the 2025 list. However, expecting to see them under their new names, anyway 🙏 This is how fast and far the Cloud Native ecosystem and community grow. P.S. The full list of 2025 KCDs is here: https://lnkd.in/geBHJc4B

Great conversations were happening behind the scenes at the Future Congress 2024! I had the pleasure of connecting with Jeffrey Kratz (VP, Worldwide Public Sector Industry International Sales at AWS), Alan Halachmi (Director, Worldwide Public Sector Solutions Architecture at Amazon), and Philip von Haehling (Public Sector Head AWS of Central Europe and Ireland). Here are my key takeaway: 👉 The AWS European Sovereign Cloud will be a new independent cloud for Europe, designed to provide further choice to help public sector organizations and customers in highly regulated industries meet their evolving sovereignty needs. 👉 The AWS European Sovereign Cloud is planning to launch its first AWS Region in the State of Brandenburg, Germany, by the end of 2025, available to all customers. 👉 This shows that sovereignty is at the very top of priorities for all hyper scalers and that it will be driven forward with high priority. Looking forward to further exchange with AWS in our #SovereignCloud and #SovereignGenAI Competence Center in Kronberg / Germany. #FutureofPublicSector #GenerativeAI #CloudFirst #DigitalTransformation

Top 10 resons not to attend our event on April 17th in Frankfurt: 1. You like to do things manually 2. You don’t want developers to create infrastructure because that’s what you like to spend time on every day 3. You love unknown changes & drift 4. cost control & allocation is something you don’t worryabout, enough money in the bank 5. networking is something you don’t see as important. It has to be there and it is the networks fault always anyway 6. you like spending hours setting up CICD pipelines every day even if it is repetitive 7. account provision in cloud - I don’t care - all eggs into one basket is easier for me 8. I have too many platform engineers, they don’t know what to do all day 9. I am a firefighter in heart, not at home but at work. I love to repair 10. I already have a PlayStation 5 If this is not true for you, you might want to see how RheinEnergie automated from A-Z They won also the Cloud native rockstars award btw🚀🚀🚀 https://lnkd.in/dfxA_dS9

SAOUG Conference 2024: Speaker Spotlight On: ❤️Michelle Phipson, Head of Business Development & Strategy and Sphume Dlamini, Senior Manager at Can do Consulting ❤️ Presentation Title: Digital agility: a critical success factor in the context of systems implementation, rapid digitisation and a changing world Michelle and Sphume will address the people element of systems change which is cited as one of the top reasons why implementation projects fail, often because is it not given the same attention as the investment itself. However, it is the end-users who will ultimately determine the overall success or failure of the project. Digital agility is a critical success factor in the context of a large system implementation, rapid digitisation and a changing VUCA world, but for many, how to obtain this digital dexterity is either underestimated, or overlooked. The ability to harness technology and more recently, AI tools for use as an accelerator to performance, increases the chances of remaining relevant and competitive both as individuals and businesses.
