Recently, I had an engaging discussion with colleagues about the healthcare landscape in Africa, particularly focusing on the relationship between big pharma and developing economies in terms of drug development. We debated how these dynamics often leave many without access to advanced treatments. Amidst this conversation, the concept of clinical research as a care option (CRAACO) emerged as a beacon of hope. CRAACO integrates clinical research directly into patient care, offering a dual benefit: patients receive innovative treatments while contributing to scientific progress. This approach could be a game-changer for Nigeria. Imagine a Nigerian patient with a rare condition: traditionally, their options are limited. But, through CRAACO, they can access cutting-edge therapies available only through clinical trials. This not only provides immediate health benefits but also fosters a more robust healthcare infrastructure. Key Benefits: 1. Access to Advanced Treatments: Patients receive the latest therapies. 2. Enhanced Infrastructure: Boosts healthcare facilities and professional training. 3. Economic Growth: Attracts investments and creates jobs. 4. Improved Health Outcomes*: Empowers patients with diverse treatment options. Challenges persist: ensuring strong regulatory and ethical standards, raising public awareness, and securing necessary funding are pivotal. But with collaboration between government, healthcare providers, and international partners, these obstacles can be overcome. Embracing CRAACO could transform healthcare in Nigeria, providing access to better treatments and driving economic growth. Let’s continue this conversation and explore how CRAACO can redefine healthcare in developing economies. Share your thoughts below! #HealthcareInnovation #ClinicalResearch #NigeriaHealthcare #CRAACO #MedicalResearch #HealthEquity

Digitalising healthdata should be a priority for low and middle income countries. New technologies make it economically possible. To be continued…
🔍 Exploring New Horizons with the TEC🌍 Last week our outstanding partner Dr. Ninaeli Teravael led a workshop with the Tanzania Episcopal Conference (TEC). An intitial meeting characterized by high levels of engagement and meaningful exchanges. We are very excited about the possibility of working with the TEC and incorporating MPHB into their infrastructure improving the ways patients recieve care and make administrative procedures more convenient for healthcare employees. This signals the start of a great collaboration and we can't wait to take off with TEC as we test and refine My Personal Health Bank to further help the Tanzanian healthcare system. We are greatful and appreciate the TEC team and look forward to building our relationship. #MyPersonalHealthBank #HealthcareInnovation #Collaboration #TEC #EmpoweringHealthcare 🏥💡
