Chris Thom, MD, RDMS — Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine — provides a detailed insider’s review of our Accuro XV feasibility trial. We’re investigating if ultrasound technology for musculoskeletal injury diagnosis can be widely adopted in emergency settings. The trial assesses the device’s usability across different operators, use cases, and patients. The aim is to ensure that clinicians of varying expertise can consistently acquire reliable diagnostic images for extremity injuries, while evaluating the device's safety, its integration into ED workflows, and its ability to render automated diagnostic ultrasound images. In an episode during Transform AF case series, Dr. Devi G Nair, MD, FACC, FHRS and Dr. John Day, discuss the transformative potential of fluoroscopy-free cardiac procedures. Here are some key points; Pre-mapping is primarily reserved for complex cases, such as redo procedures or anatomically challenging interventions, rather than standard anatomical ablations. Decisions about mapping tools, like high-density catheters, are influenced by cost constraints without compromising safety or procedural outcomes. Intracardiac echocardiography (ICE) plays a critical role in fluoroscopy-free procedures, providing real-time visualization and reducing reliance on additional mapping tools. Reducing or eliminating fluoroscopy enhances safety by decreasing radiation exposure for both patients and clinicians, without affecting procedural efficacy. A steep learning curve is associated with fluoroscopy-free workflows, but experience enables clinicians to streamline processes and achieve optimal results. #EPEEPS Boston Scientific

As a research physician and clinical scientist, being part of the development of the Cleaner Vac thrombectomy system has been a truly rewarding journey. From its inception during early design discussions, through rigorous in vivo and cadaveric studies, to witnessing its transition to market with exceptional early use outcomes, this project has been nothing short of transformative. The privilege of collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, internally with brilliant engineers and clinicians who shaped its design, and externally with physicians contributing invaluable insights during pre-market trials, has been a humbling and enlightening experience. The process has underscored the importance of continuous learning, iterative adjustments, and the necessity of approaching complex challenges with a mindset open to growth and refinement. This device represents more than just a technical achievement; it’s a testament to what can be accomplished when innovation is paired with clinical expertise and rigorous testing. As we celebrate its commercialization, I am equally enthusiastic about the promising development pipeline following behind. These new technologies as well as others offered by other medical device companies in the space hold immense potential to redefine how physician’s and clinicians approach thrombectomy and improve outcomes for patients worldwide. I am deeply grateful to the entire team, our physician advisors, early-stage adopters, and everyone who has contributed to making this vision a reality. Together, we’re not just advancing devices; we’re advancing care.Argon Medical Devices, Inc. Patient movement during interventional procedures can cause disturbances in clinical images. Shimadzu's SCORE RSM technology, available on the Trinias angiography system, enables you to perform DSA without being affected by motion artifacts. In a recent study by interventional cardiologist Dr. Brian Brown, SCORE RSM reduced the radiation dose by 58.78% and contrast media by 40.7% compared to traditional DSA methods. Struggling with how to assess if TM imaging is right for your patients? While TM imaging can give you great insights into the anatomy of the TM joint, it’s impossible to obtain for every patient. There are two questions you should ask first: 1️⃣ How do the patient’s teeth fit in the skeletal position? 2️⃣ Does the patient experience regular pain? Get the full rundown of TM joint imaging from Dr. Jim McKee, including TM joint classification in clinical practice, so you can better decide if it’s the right fit for your patients. https://lnkd.in/geuKEqsJ #DentalHealth #PatientCare #SpearDigest
