Does Sarah think she's a radical? That gosh she's stumbled upon a new way forward? It's a disease It's not my fault It's treatable They're experts ... Making it welcoming isn't going to do much - you don't appear to understand that it has to be something wanted! What is it they can't accept - I'd question how person centred it could be when they refuse to accept what is often our truth .... This is addiction centred for them - as long as there is an insistent objective to make users stop using ...  It's going to continue to fail.  Is it a disease or a disorder and do you not have to be able to evidence a disease if you think you can treat it? Doesn't the treatment have to work?  How many times can they try to repackage the same tired response - your refusal to accept - it just may not be wanted  or may be wanted in a limited way for a limited substance- is a disorder that's a disease but it's not your fault and its treatable - I refuse to believe im wrong disorder disease addiction. Don't worry there is a cure.  Just like you - I must be right because I think I am even though I can't prove I am.  I think the step Sarah means is the 12 steps from the room in the church or community centre to the medical setting.
