Livesey Exchange works to ensure local spaces, whether that be existing buildings or new builds, are utilised by Southwark residents. LEX1, located around the Ledbury Estate, was home to 11 units, facilitating 20+ creatives at any given time. This multidisciplinary space is also being used for workshops, skills development training and cultural programmes. The construction of LEX2 is currently underway which will serve to support the local community by providing an accessible social, cultural and community space. This will also become Livesey Exchange’s permanent residence once LEX1 is eventually knocked down. Social Value: When speaking with Nicholas, he placed keen importance on ‘social value’ and what it means to the community. According to Social Value UK (2022), the term refers to the quantification of importance that people place on the changes that they experience in their lives. Livesey Exchange provides a middle ground between the Southwark community and local governing bodies where these values can be communicated and subsequently measured. CMAP is excited to announce the completion and adoption of the Village of Lansing's Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). The CIP lists and prioritizes capital projects critical to maintaining high quality of life over the next five years. The CIP includes a new sidewalk repair program, which received the most votes from residents as a top priority for improvement. The Village of Lansing has already allocated $170K to make the new sidewalk repair program a reality with additional investments planned over the next five years. We couldn’t have crafted an inclusive plan without community participation. Over 14% of households participated by voting on a variety of project and budget proposals.
