The holiday season can be both exciting and overwhelming, and it's easy to get caught up in the hustle. Remember, saying "no" to things that stress you out is just as valuable as saying "yes" to the things you truly feel excited about. Give yourself permission to simplify, focus on what really matters, and make room for moments that fill you with calm and connection. Make choices that nurture your well-being, both now and in the future. Stay grounded, stay intentional, and make space for what matters most. ❤️ You can read more tips on my blog, Tis the Season to Pause. Link is below. https://lnkd.in/gdHB48jn

What’s in your circle of control this holiday season? Holidays can bring so much joy, but let’s be real, there’s often a hefty side serving of stress. Family drama, travel delays, or unexpected cancellations? Totally out of your control. The good news? You don’t have to carry all of it. This simple visual 👇 reminds us of the difference between what we can control and what we can’t. 🎄In your control: Your boundaries, your budget, how you spend your time and energy, and how you care for yourself. 🎄Out of your control: Family dynamics, how others react, and those pesky shipping delays. Focusing on the inner circle isn’t just empowering: it’s a game-changer. You can say “no” to events that drain you, stick to your traditions, and gift yourself the grace to let go of things outside your influence. Ask yourself: Where will you spend your energy this holiday season? Let’s make it count for what truly matters. Tag someone who needs this reminder! #holidays #mindset #boundaries #selfcare #emotionalintelligence #askmonicawatt #holiday Thank you to #selfloverainbow on insta for a beautiful image 💝

The holiday season can bring both financial strain and emotional stress as people juggle gift-giving, travel, and social events, often stretching their budgets beyond comfort. The pressure to meet expectations, whether personal or societal, can intensify feelings of anxiety or inadequacy. Financial overcommitment can lead to long-term stress, impacting well-being beyond the season itself. It’s essential to set clear financial boundaries and manage expectations to reduce emotional strain. Planning ahead and focusing on meaningful experiences, rather than extravagant spending, can help create a more balanced and joyful holiday experience. What’s your favorite tip for saving during the holidays?

Autumn is my favorite season. Beautiful, sunny days filled with color and cool nights perfect for a good sleep. Most of the biting bugs are gone and I am free to walk the forest preserve behind my house. Although Fall marks the end of a cycle in nature, it has always been a beginning for me. A time to take stock, plan, begin. Maybe because a new school year is Fall? I’m not a spring cleaner, I’m a Fall cleaner. Going through the house and prepping it for the return indoors. Making sure to fix each room so that it is ready for the winter ahead. There is nothing more satisfying as creating the comfy world for where I will sit and watch the snow fall, enjoy friends & family during the holidays and wait for Spring to appear. It’s also the perfect time for you to take stock for your association. Do yourself a favor and take a look at your abstract/speaker management vendor. Are you working with a dedicated education partner with customer service as its passion (my company, Planstone Group) or private equity run software with spreadsheets as its driving force (our competitors)? Contact me (dawn@planstone) or Tom Heneghan (tom@planstone.com) to create and plan for your next conference cycle. Your organization deserves a team that cares, listens and offers you the software you need to easily get your job done. And, I’ll save you time and money (sometimes that’s the same thing)😉

Thanksgiving is 2 days away—but don’t hit cruise control. If you're hearing "Let's talk after the holidays," here's how to flip the script and book more meetings... Everyone's in a great mood, sipping pumpkin spice lattes, Sporting sweaters and decorating the office orange and brown. But when on the phone you'll hear, "Let's talk after the holidays." This is not an appointment to talk after the holidays, This is a polite and friendly blow-off to get off the phone, Instead of accepting it, challenge it. Ask questions that uncover the cost of waiting: It can sound like, "If 15-30 minutes now showed you how to sell more vehicles in January, would that be worth it?" You can add, "What would happen if we sit down for a few minutes and show you how dealers are getting ahead of the curve for January?" You can also point out, "A lot of dealers are thinking the same thing, not making any moves until after the holiday. Do you think that creates an opportunity for us? I also use, this simple direct approach: "Why don't we do this, are you in front of your computer, I can show you in 10 minutes what we do, and then you can decide next steps?" Don't settle for after the holidays, challenge by asking question. Order takers wait. Closers book the business now. It’s called selling for a reason. ****************************** Need help booking meeting this holiday season? I'm having a cold outbound coaching session coming up. Will provide sequence and call reviews. Limited to 5 max. DM for details.

Does the thought of taking time off send your stress levels through the roof? 😩 Are you worried about stepping away from your business for a much-needed break? Maybe you’re already thinking ahead to Christmas and would love to switch off from work and enjoy the festive season, but feel like everything might fall apart without you. It’s so easy to feel tied to your desk, especially as a business owner, but here’s the thing: you should be able to take time off without the stress! Outsourcing those admin tasks to someone you trust (like me 😉) can help you focus on what matters—whether that’s recharging your batteries or spending quality time with loved ones. Taking a break doesn’t have to mean putting your business on pause. Let me keep things running smoothly while you enjoy a well-deserved rest. You’ll come back refreshed, ready to dive back in—without any of the overwhelm. Make it what you do on your time off that's scary, not taking the time off itself - this zipline in mexico was terrifying and I'm not usually scared of heights! What do you have planned for your next break?

The holidays don’t have to feel like a battle for survival. With a few small changes, you can tackle the chaos and enjoy the season. ✨ Deadlines tighten, inboxes overflow, and suddenly everything must be done by December 24th. Add the stress of gift shopping and holiday planning, and you’re left wondering — how are you supposed to enjoy the season at all? Sound familiar? These tips will help you survive (and maybe even enjoy) the holiday madness at work: 1️⃣ Plan something to look forward to End the year on a positive note by scheduling something fun — a team lunch, a creative workshop, or simply some downtime. Having something on the horizon helps keep spirits up. 2️⃣ Set boundaries Step away from Slack after 5 p.m., skip that extra meeting, or just say “no” when needed. 3️⃣ Take guilt-free breaks Block out “me time” for a quick coffee, a short walk, or even just five minutes to breathe. Small resets can do wonders for your focus and energy. 4️⃣ Be realistic with your goals Not everything has to be done immediately. Push non-urgent tasks to January — it’s not procrastination, it’s prioritization. 5️⃣ Celebrate small wins Take a moment to appreciate what you’ve already achieved. Big or small, every win deserves a little recognition. 🧡 Let’s make this a holiday season of less stress and more joy. What’s your best tip for staying calm during the holiday rush?
