Those of you who know me, know this... I have always taken vacations as unplugged as possible. We all need a break from work. Take your vacation and rejuvenate. I saw this blog post today and wanted to remind you all, that vacation is needed and should not be a "work" vacation unless you mean a vacation away from work. ;-) Enjoy the short read! https://lnkd.in/gv3vTAMB

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: from vacation to work 🛬 post-vacation blues. All good things must come to an end. All good vacations must end too. After overcoming pre-trip anxiety (https://lnkd.in/deWDg8HD) to enjoy our vacation, the challenge when it ends is to navigate the re-entry back to the reality of work. It is a case of the post-vacation blues. Here are a few suggestions to help ease back into work… 𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒂 𝒃𝒖𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓 𝒅𝒂𝒚: Just as you allocate a day or half a day to transition from work mode to a vacation mindset, consider setting aside a similar amount of time to adjust from vacation mode back to work. For those who optimize their time (like myself), this may seem like a luxury. 𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒊𝒕 𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒚: Make your first day back a catch-up day. Avoid diving straight into a full schedule of tasks and meetings. Use the day for planning, clearing emails, and reconnecting with colleagues to get updates on any developments that occurred while you were away. 𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒑𝒕 𝒊𝒕: The sluggishness and gloominess that come with realizing a vacation is over are very natural reactions. Traditionally, we have always operated in a cycle of work, rest, work, rest. Not every uncomfortable feeling needs to be eliminated. 𝑵𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒆: This is perhaps the best one yet, plan for your next vacation! Booking trips early can save money and gives us something to look forward to. This can significantly boost mood and motivation. How else do you work through post-vacation blues?
