Energy scarcity isn’t the problem. It never was. 🌍💡 We’ve been taught for decades that we’re running out of energy—that we have to fight over what’s left. But that’s a myth. The real issue isn’t how much energy we have—it’s how inefficiently we use it. At Rhyte, we’re building a world where energy is abundant, resilient, and smart—with our breakthrough technology, Flora, leading the way. Curious how we plan to change the narrative and unlock the true potential of the energy around us? Check out our latest article, “Energy Scarcity is a Myth,” on Medium. 👇 https://lnkd.in/gt58SGW4 Let’s build the future of limitless energy together. ⚡️ #EnergyResilience #EnergyFuture #SmartEnergy #Rhyte #Flora #Innovation #CleanTech #LimitlessEnergy

McKinsey & Company has helpfully distilled a library of information about new energy systems into 25 physical challenges (Gerard Reid thankyou for sharing). However, #technical #innovation by itself will fail to meet these challenges in the timescale available. Radical #social innovation and #policy #change are critically needed. Expressed another way, global societies and the geopolitical landscape have co-evolved through history with the fossil-based energy system. Similarly, the rapid transformation to a non-fossil system requires close intermeshing of physical, social and geopolitical change. Developed societies must aim for a significantly #lower #energy #intensity and material intensity than today's. To radically reduce intensity, they will need to transform all the services currently supplied by the energy system, including international tourism, global shipping, construction, food and textile production, health care . . . We are relying too much on technical innovation to deliver #energytransition and must strive much harder at the social innovation and geopolitical change needed.
Energy Research Reporf of the Week! The Hard Stuff: Navigating the Physical Realities of the Energy Transition… The energy system we rely on today is an incredible machine—massive, complex, and deeply intertwined with the global economy. It’s been fine-tuned over centuries, serving billions of people. The current system is high-performing; we can easily move energy around to where it’s needed, thanks to the energy density of fossil fuels. They’re reliable, easy to transport, and we can ramp up supply on demand. But here’s the hard truth: this system is wasteful—about two-thirds of the energy is lost, and it’s responsible for over 85 percent of CO2 emissions. That’s a problem we can’t ignore. We’re in the early stages of an #EnergyTransition, trying to move to something cleaner. #Solar, #Wind, and #EVs are great, no doubt about it. They bring a lot to the table, but integrating them into our energy system is no small feat. Let’s not kid ourselves—this transition is a physical transformation, not just a nice idea on paper. We’re talking about re-engineering the very foundation of our energy infrastructure. It’s not just about hitting #NetZero targets; it’s about making sure the new system can perform as well as, if not better than, what we have today. And we have to do it in a way that keeps energy affordable, reliable, and competitive. In my view, this is where the real work lies. We’ve made progress, but there’s a long road ahead. If we’re serious about this transition, we need to focus on the tough, physical challenges of rethinking and rebuilding our #EnergySystem. Otherwise, we risk falling short of both our #EnvironmentalGoals and the high standards of performance we’ve come to expect. #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #ClimateAction

In this chaotic, always-on world, it's too easy to get lost in the noise and forget what really matters. We're constantly told to buy more, work harder, and chase a never-ending mirage of success. But at what cost? We're often left feeling stressed, drained, and disconnected from our true purpose. That's where clean energy comes in. We're not just talking about solar panels and wind turbines (though those are crucial). We're talking about the energy within us – the energy of our thoughts, emotions, and actions. Think about it: how much of your energy is wasted on negative self-talk, limiting beliefs, or bad habits? Click to read the full blog post and see why #cleanenergy is not just for the planet anymore. https://lnkd.in/gDsESuTh

As we work towards a cleaner future, we have to face a big reality, we’re not making progress quickly enough. The World Energy Outlook 2024 tells us that simply using clean energy isn’t enough. We need strong systems that can handle the challenges of climate change and the growing demand for energy. We often see how fragile our energy systems are, especially when extreme weather events disrupt power supplies or when our energy needs increase faster than we can supply it. If we really want a safe and eco-friendly future, we need to focus on making our energy systems more resilient. This means investing more in our power grids, energy storage solutions, and technologies that can adapt to changes. Are we doing enough to prepare our energy systems for the future? Every dollar we invest today in building stronger infrastructure is a step towards a future that is not just clean, but also safe and sustainable. #sustainability #gogreen #energy #ecofriendly
