Private Equity finally using Deal Contingent solutions in the Funding space... Well done Longford Capital! It was only a matter of time. As frequent users of #DealContingentHedging solutions, to risk manage FX and Interest Rate risk contingent upon the successful close of M&A activity, it always made sense to me for #PrivateEquity funds to use similar technology when funding assets whose value was contingent upon the successful realisation of a legal process. Litigation funding does exactly this. It is non-recourse to the user, allowing a full risk transfer of the funding risk to those funds that specialise in underwriting such risks. Let's see if banks finally play catch up in this space.
