What a surprise, I knew from hoping back and forth to The Isle of Wight there was a big difference in property prices, however I hadn't realised just how much. The average house price on the Isle of Wight was £269,000 in May 2024, down 5.5% from May 2023. Across the South East, there was little change in the average house price over the same period. As opposed to Test Valley, in and around Andover. The average house price in Test Valley was £416,000 in May 2024, up 2.3% from May 2023. Across the South East, there was little change in the average house price over the same period. Very different places to live, and a lot going for each. The Isle of Wight with all it's beaches and places to eat, is a perfect place to escape. Having a holiday home as a bolt hole that provides additional income to holiday makers or short term rentals brings in more money to the island throughout the year.
