It is with a heavy heart that I learned of the passing of Peter Schorr, the esteemed founder of Retreat Behavioral Health. His unwavering dedication and compassion have left an indelible mark on countless lives, including those of us at Sigmund Software. As the account manager for Retreat, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the transformative impact of Peter’s work. Our deepest condolences go out to his family, the Retreat community, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him. May his soul rest in peace and his spirit continue to guide the team who loved him and his mission.
Thank you for all you have done for me and my family. From patient, to employee, to friend to colleague. I’ll miss you and your text very early each holiday morning.
So sorry to hear about Peter passing. I worked for him in business development for 4 1/2 years. He was very kind and supportive and always treated me with dignity and respect. A keen mind who created a great work culture and helped many who struggled with addictions. God bless Peter and his family and friends. He will be missed by the recovery community.
I began my HR career at Retreat Behavioral Health, where they took a chance on me as a recent graduate with minimal experience. They invested in me and helped me grow into the HR professional I am today. Peter was a great man who began an incredible legacy. My condolences to Peter’s family and to my Retreat family. Retreat will always hold a special place in my heart as my first “home.” 🤍 Rest easy, Peter.
What a shock. Great man, great vision. Retreat was a real departure from what was available to people looking for treatment in the early 2000’s. Great staff, easy access, good relationships with insurance carriers, allowed many to get the help they needed. Also provided some fantastic IOP following treatment. He will be missed.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of Peter, a truly remarkable person and a beacon of hope for many. Peter dedicated his life to helping those in recovery, offering unwavering support and compassion to all he encountered. His good soul and kind heart touched countless lives, leaving a legacy of kindness and resilience. Peter’s commitment to uplifting others and their positive impact on our community will never be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers are with my Retreat family and friends during this difficult time. May we all find comfort in knowing how profoundly Peter influenced the lives of so many and continue his legacy. 💔
The amount of people that Peter helped and was loved by is insurmountable. He invested in PEOPLE and never strayed away from having a true human conversation regardless of what the topic was. Surely will be sorely missed by many. Love you Peter and everything you have done for not only my family, but the demographic that we serve. My condolences to his family, which was many RIP brother #retreaters

6moLast time I spoke to Peter I said " I start my presentations by saying my fist couple of weeks at Retreat Peter was on zoom in March 2020 giving gift cards to employees who were showing up during the pandemic for work " Afraid I would lose my Job but no one did. He also took pts positive COVid when no places would. I received 2 texts today from past pts that had reached 2yr and 1yr today.❤️💔❤️💔🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I'm beyond sad but grateful I knew him He is ascending with much love from the many souls that he touched. #RETREATERS
