You know what’s hell on earth for both real estate owners/operators and contractors? The system for financial payments. For both sides of the equation—for contractors that are doing work on real estate sites and for owners and operators that have to facilitate payments to them—there are a lot of problems. One issue, amongst many, is that SMB contractors desperately need float and they need to manage their capital. They tend not to be particularly good at that because that's not one of their strengths. Their strength is entrepreneurial judgment and instinct, driving through-put on construction or whatever that they're doing. Their strength is usually not in the administrative, detail-orientated side of things. Yet they have this challenge: they’ve got to manage very scarce working capital and know when that money's coming in so that they can have enough money to cover payroll for their employees. They're in this really tough situation. On the other side of the equation, you have the ownership or the management companies that are making the payments. These folks are also in a bad spot because they don't have good AP systems to cover things and know how to track everything digitally. Both these problems can be solved by turning the lights on digitally through financial technology and at Rex Tech we saw this problem and we're addressing it. #realestate #proptech #fintech
