Earth Observation Data Scientist at European Space Agency - ESA

🚀 Exciting news: call for abstracts for an upcoming ESA-NASA Workshop on AI Foundation Models in Earth Observation 🌍 I am thrilled to announce the upcoming Workshop on Foundation Models in Earth Observation, jointly organized by European Space Agency - ESA and NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration, hosted at ESA’s ESRIN in May 2025! 🌟 Let’s explore how these AI Foundation Models are transforming geospatial data analysis, EO downstream use cases, climate modelling, weather predictions, and beyond! Why join? - Share your work with a diverse community of AI experts and scientists. - Learn about the latest in Foundation Model for EO. - Discuss the current advantages, limitations, and concerns around Foundation Models - Network with industry leaders, researchers, and peers. Working on this exciting research? This is your chance to share them! We’re now looking for abstracts on topics like: - Latest advances in AI Foundation Models - Adapting Foundation Models to geospatial data (multi-modal, multi-resolution, etc. including Language Models) and specific EO tasks  - Integration of Foundation Models with up-/down-stream applications and geospatial Digital Twins  - Advances in weather prediction and climate using Foundation Models  - Geospatial semantic data mining and data volume reduction  - Benchmarking and evaluating Foundation Models in EO  - Computational challenges in training large-scale Foundation Models  - Ethical considerations and responsible AI use in EO (bias, transparency, accountability, centralization and democratization, etc.)  - Commercial use of Foundation Model in EO 🗓️ Deadline for abstracts: 31 January 2025 23:59 CET Don’t miss out—submit your abstract today! 👉 all information https://lnkd.in/drSf7ecR I am equally excited to share that we have an incredible Program Committee lined up, featuring leading experts from AI, geospatial science, climate research, and industry!
