There’s still a lot we aren’t sure about with #Debby, but we do know we’ll see a lot of rainfall and flooding. As you’re preparing your home and families, please plan for your pets too. Evacuation: If possible, take your pets with you. Ensure they have proper carriers and identification tags. Sheltering in Place: Move outdoor pets indoors. Place a notice on your home with pet details and your contact information. Move pet toys and beds to higher ground to keep them dry. Pet Disaster Kit: Consider including items like food, water, bowls, bedding, medications, first-aid supplies, and sanitation items.

🐕🦺 Pet Tips for Hurricanes 🐈 As Hurricane Milton closes in on Florida, we're all worried about our families -- including our furry ones. The Orange County Emergency Response officials are encouraging everyone to shelter in place by noon. If you have a #FurryFriend, it is very important to have a game plan. Storms can cause anxiety and disorientation for pets. 🐶 Stock up on pet supplies: Always make sure you have an extra supply of pet essentials. If you're seeking shelter, always make sure you know which ones are the pet-friendly options. Bring your pet's vaccination records, medications, toys, snacks, and extra food. Check if your shelter requires a crate. 🐱 Leash Up at all times: If you take your pet outside, use a leash. Storms can change their scent markers, disorienting them to their surroundings and that can create anxiety. Stay close to them. 🐁 Watch for Wildlife: Wildlife will end up displaced in the aftermath of the storm. Wait a couple of days to let your pets roam to avoid any dangerous run-ins for you and your pet. 🐕🦺 Collars and ID: Make sure you put a collar or harness on your pet and update microchip information before the storm hits. If they get lost, use social media, community forums, and check local shelters to reunite with them. Check out Petco Love Lost for lost and found pets. Stay safe everyone! #HurricanePreparedness #PetSafety #FurryFriends
