Project initiation includes lots of steps. You’ll want to: 🚀 Understand the business context 🚀 Understand the requirements 🚀 Understand the funding – always important, as you need to put together a project budget during this time 🚀 Understand what success looks like, which normally involves talking to the team about project success criteria and how the project will be judged by the customer. 🚀 And talk about anything else required to set up the project for success from the very beginning. By the end of asking all those questions you should have a pretty good idea of what this project is all about. The checklist covers all of those points. #freebiefriday

Yes!!!!! This is what is all about! Jake Calabrese reminds us here that projects do not need to be done 100% as they were originally planned. BAs and Product Owners can and should advocate for doing the smallest scope needed to meet the need and measure it once released to determine if more is needed. We overbuild most of the time and this is the key to actually getting more results (“more” done). Analysis and prioritization with a focus on defining small, releasable pieces is key! Imagine what happens to estimating (or no estimating) when this 5% is done and it meets the need. Rethink what “the need” means!

Think you need to complete entire projects? Think again. 👉 The 5% rule: Sometimes 5% of one project is more valuable than 100% of another. Why it works: - Delivers value faster - Allows for quick pivots - Prevents getting bogged down in low-value work Challenge 1: Can you identify the highest-value 5% of your current project? Challenge 2: What would it take to deliver that first? Remember: Progress isn't about doing everything. It's about doing the right things. #AgilePrioritization #ValueDelivery #FocusOnImpact
