Great two days at the Digital Health Festival which was particularly relevant for me with the Well@Work collaborative content. This event brought many of my colleagues and peers across medicine and healthcare, workforce wellbeing, business, tech, digital health and informatics together. The importance of investing in partnerships and co-design were recurring themes to improve patient and clinician experience and optimise efficiency and safety of systems and practice. The work has changed, the workforce has changed, the tools have changed. In healthcare "this is the way we have always done it" is no longer an option . A nice example of partnerships and innovative solutions to real world healthcare challenges include the use of ModVale telehealth booths by Margot Morton and team at CareZen. These virtual booths are being piloted by Austin Health in partnership with the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department ( VVED) team for appropriately selected low acuity patients meeting criteria who would otherwise wait hours in the emergency department. I look forward to following this pilot and subsequent iteration based on initial data and feedback. Indeed the VVED led by Dr Loren Sher and team has scaled impressively over the past three years building on success of the initial business model and pilot meeting patient and practitioner needs. Healthcare is a team effort, but true transformation requires more than collaboration within the system—it demands partnership with the communities we serve. Imagine a table where healthcare workers, patients, advocates, and community members come together, united by a shared passion for building something better. A place where every voice matters, where ideas flow freely, and where innovation thrives. Change doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when we connect, listen, and co-create. Whether it’s rethinking care delivery, addressing root causes of disease, or promoting well-being, the best solutions come from collective wisdom. I’m passionate about creating spaces where these conversations can happen and turning them into action. Let’s move beyond silos and start designing a healthcare system that empowers everyone to live healthier, more meaningful lives. That's what ZNA Health Network is all about. I'll be hosting an online Launch Party on January 6, 2025 to fill you in on the details. Let's connect and explore how we can work together for meaningful change! hashtag #HealthcareTransformation #Collaboration #CommunityHealth #InnovationInHealthcare

At Memorial Hermann Health System, our digital team is laying the foundation to support our transition to a value-based care delivery model. This approach prioritizes improving patient outcomes and quality through tailored care plans, preventive measures, and cost reduction. By leveraging engagement platforms like My Memorial Hermann/MyChart, messaging tools, voice assistants, and more, we’re ensuring patients stay actively involved in managing their care. Our Analytics team is also driving this effort by developing insights that help us understand where patients are in their care journey and what steps are needed—whether managing a chronic condition or scheduling regular preventive screenings—to improve outcomes and overall health. These tools and platforms are vital in supporting our clinical and provider teams as we work to improve health now and for generations to come. I’m excited about the progress we’re making on this value-based journey and the positive impact it will have on healthcare for the Houston community. #ValueBasedCare #HealthcareInnovation #DigitalHealth

The best ideas don't come from meeting rooms, they emerge when people break bread and share real conversations over a meal. Last week, before our HLTH Foundation Techquity Advisory Coalition meeting, we gathered over a meal, no agendas, no presentations. Just honest talk about why this work matters. Around that table, titles fell away. We weren't executives or advisors, we were people who understand that healthcare needs more than just innovation. It needs heart. It needs purpose. It needs to work for everyone, not just some. These weren't polished conversations. They were raw, honest discussions about the challenges ahead and why we keep pushing forward. About who we're really building this future for. About what it means to transform healthcare into something that serves all our communities. Mil gracias to everyone who brought their whole selves to that table. The road ahead is long, but we're getting there.
