When I first started working remotely, I reveled in the thought of silent serenity away from the chaotic office environment. Fast-forward a year, and I found myself longing for a bit of that chaos. The truth is, working remotely sometimes feels like being the last person on Earth, especially for us folks who thrive on group energy. I embarked on a journey from the solitude of my home office to the bustling world of coffee shops and coworking spaces. It was an eye-opener! Here's why embracing this nomadic work style might just be a breath of fresh air you need: Ever-changing scenery: No more staring at the same wall day in and day out. Each coffee shop or coworking space has its own vibe and energy. The art of eavesdropping: Sometimes, overhearing a stranger's conversation is the unexpected muse you need for that project you've been stuck on. Unsolicited advice: Ever caught a barista giving life advice to a patron? It's free, and sometimes, surprisingly insightful! Chance encounters The number of potential collaborators or clients you might bump into while ordering your third latte is astonishing. Don't get me wrong, the transition from hermit to social butterfly isn't seamless. There are days when the coffee grinder's symphony is the last thing I need during a conference call. But here's the thing: it's about embracing the unpredictable. Let's not forget the little joys, like the local barista knowing your order by heart or finding that perfect spot with just the right amount of buzz. These small moments add a layer of richness to our workdays. If you're a remote worker feeling the tug-of-war between solitude and socializing, I urge you to give the nomadic approach a try. Who knows, you might find yourself, like me, looking forward to that little bit of daily gossip that adds color to your work life. #RemoteWorkLife #CoffeeShopHopping #Coworking

Last month, I started working from a coworking space. Initially, it was quite an adjustment for me. But working from home yesterday made me realise how quickly I’ve embraced this change. 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞 🚆 𝐍𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐭𝐞. A huge perk for me. I used to commute 2-4 hours daily in past jobs – something I never want to return to 🏠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞. Being in a comfortable environment has its’ perks (I love using scented candles). But it also comes with challenges – mainly the distractions from household chores 𝐌𝐲 𝐜𝐨-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 👋 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. While I get peopled out (after all, I’m an ambivert), it’s nice to have friendly humans around while working. ⚖️ 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤-𝐋𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞. It’s been easier to separate my work life from my personal one. I’ve been able to ‘switch off’ at the end of the day. 📈 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲. While I considered myself productive when working from home, I seem to be more productive at the co-working space. The way I keep myself motivated while working from home is by not working from home! I find myself looking for a change of environment every once in a while and the hum of conversations and music along with the aroma of fresh coffee create the perfect setup. The key is to find the balance that works best for you. Whether it’s working from home, a coworking space or a cafe - the environment you choose can have a huge impact on your motivation and output. Experiment and listen to what you need to break the monotony, stay energized and focused! ✨ . . . . . . . #ThursdayThoughts #WorkFromHome #RemoteWork #Productivity #Motivation #WorkLifeBalance #CoffeeAndWork
