It might seem like an unlikely pairing... E.L.F. BEAUTY and their "Change the Board Game" initiative to raise awareness around board diversity. Bottom line... board diversity is not only the right thing to do, it also drives profitability. E.l.f. Beauty chairman and CEO, Tarang Amin, said in a statement that he believes the company’s unique board of directors has helped it report 20 consecutive quarters of net-sales growth, and 1,500% stock growth in the past five years. Their goal? Get other companies to follow suit and double the rate of women and diverse candidates being added to U.S. corporate boards by 2027. With Billie Jean King literally serving up stats, this clever campaign is no doubt reaching a varied audience – folks who may have never thought about the diversity on boards. And that’s the point. From a marketing perspective, E.l.f. is knocking it out of the park. A quick check of their socials and their latest board post on Instagram has close to 1,000 comments and almost all are excitedly encouraging. Can E.l.f. mobilize other companies? Hard to say. Are consumers proud of E.l.f. taking the lead on this initiative? It appears so. This might just be the right mix of marketing and social impact that can make a difference. What do you think of E.l.f.’s campaign? https://lnkd.in/e-9wBgHN #Marketing #Ads #SocialImpact

The Complexity and Beauty of Pinks Pink isn’t just a color—it’s a story, a mood, and a reflection of complexity and beauty. Like the many facets of women, pink embodies strength, softness, and unapologetic individuality. At Pinks, we channel this feminine energy into every detail of what we create, from our rose petal pre-rolls to our sustainable cultivation methods. As women, we juggle so much in our careers, relationships, self discovery/self journeys. 1 in 3 American women now use cannabis as part of their self-care routine. Why not make Pinks a part of yours? Whether you’re unwinding after a long day, celebrating a milestone, or simply savoring a quiet moment, Pinks are designed with YOU in mind. I’m especially excited about our new drops and the events we’re sponsoring in Las Vegas next week, like Blunt Brunch and the National Women's Cannabis Chamber of Commerce cocktail party. These milestones are proof that we’re not just building a brand; we’re creating a movement. A celebration of women in cannabis, luxury, and self-care. Pinks is more than a product. It’s a reflection of my journey as a woman navigating life, business, and self-expression!! I’ve been where the common woman has, balancing dreams with challenges—and it’s my mission to provide something beautiful, empowering, and just a little indulgent to help other women feel seen and celebrated🥹🥰 Every woman deserves to feel radiant and empowered!! Why not start with Pinks😜 Let me know how you incorporate self-care into your routine? 💗 #Selfcare #PinksProducts #Cannacouture #womenEmpowerment

They say that in life that you have to surround yourself with good people & then magical things happen. 💫 I truly believe that I am very lucky in being surrounded by powerful women that lift the world around us up to another level, step by step. 🌍 & 🫵 you can increase their impact even more by voting for them in DataNews She Goes ICT! https://shegoesict.be/ Please do cast your vote by clicking on 'Vote Now' at the top! ✌ I wanted to share with you my list & why I am voting for these empowering women. I got to know both Evelien & Jana on a project. It was a tough year. I worked too much. I took too little care of myself. But I remember the positive team mindset of Jana Bruynsteen being the uplift of my day when we had a workshop together. Jana’s can-do attitude & powerful performance was uplifting & empowering to work along with. She was always ready to think along across team boundaries & push the status quo on projects. A team player. 💯 Evelien Vanhooren taught me so many things that were out of my comfort zone but she knew how to coach me, took me along, but I never felt micro-managed. She showed the patience needed for me to learn. She listened & knew when to act or when to just listen. She taught me what was important to her but respected what was important to me. A coach & mentor. 📚 I have only been to Clusity events twice, but it is enough to feel the impact & positivity that Rein Meirte (She/Her) brings to inspire women in tech. Rein is a beacon of inspiration who uplifts women around her. Clusity’s ambitions are big, but I know that they can make it because that’s just who she is & you need to join these events to feel that. An inspiration. 💡 & Who is not on this list but definitely deserves a call-out, is my wife Jessica Van den Heuvel. She inspired me by her relentless activism and care to go down the path I am taking: Care for yourself & care for others. Authenticity in a world of fake. Without her, I wouldn’t be the person that I am today. Thank you! 🤩 These powerful women inspired me to push through, to feel empowered, to see the positivity & made me grow as a person. I aspire to one day be such a role model as they are to those around me. Thanks for being this inspiration to many! 🙏

Celebrating our female vendors for International Women's Day! Supporting local business will always be the core of what we do. We currently stock 20% female-led products, and we want to raise that. We are opening our shelves to 5 new female vendors! Know a business that would be great? Share the link below! Katie Ruddell the founder of Kokomo Foods, tells her story of pivoting to enter the CPG business with the help of Spud during the pandemic. “Looking back, Spud was the first retailer that stocked us and they pushed us in the direction of even creating a grocery line. We were just focused on restaurant operations, and then when COVID hit they created a new program about supporting local businesses, and they also had a lot of resources available for small businesses that had no idea how to enter the CPG world. Frankly, without Spud's support, we wouldn't have been able to list our product in-store, especially considering the listing fees. For small businesses, every dollar counts, and with slim profit margins, even a small loss can have a significant impact. That's why support from businesses like Spud, who not only provide another sales channel and marketing support but also waive costs like stocking fees, is invaluable.” https://lnkd.in/geft3N96

Why do women go to the loo in pairs? Yesterday was IWD and I had the pleasure of speaking at the Cambridgeshire Chambers of Commerce event at Huntingdon Racecourse all about that fear we all have of putting our foot in it. I love talking about this because it’s a great way to help us all understand that everyone feels this way at some point. In fact we can’t help it, it’s in our DNA to seek the safety of our “in group”. And talking to people about our differences triggers our primal flight or fight instincts. What was also great about this event was that men came along too. As aspiring allies on IWD to listen and learn about issues that don’t centre them! Yes!! So imagine my surprise (not at all) when we noticed that the men that did attend naturally gravitated to sitting in pairs… Now, I’m sure this was completely unconscious on their part. I highly doubt they had a chat over the arrival coffee to discuss their feelings about safety in numbers. I doubt they even noticed! But… their natural instincts did. When we’re in spaces as a minority it is natural to look for those who make us feel safer and we are drawn to them. I totally welcome and applaud these men for coming along yesterday. They were engaged and participated fully. And they also learned what it felt like to not be in the majority in a business space too… So. Why do women go to the loo in pairs? It’s not because we’re incapable of finding it on our own. It’s not because we can’t bear to not have someone to chat to for 5 minutes or just in case we need a tampon or some lippy. It’s because of safety. Society has taught us that being a woman alone is not always safe and our natural instincts do their job to protect us. We show up for each other, unconsciously. It’s the same for why other [insert label] only spaces exist. Because people who have experienced marginalisation need to know it’s safe to speak up, to put themselves out there, to be themselves. So, next time you find yourself in a majority in a group, take a look around. What do you notice now? How can you do something to make sure everyone feels safe and included?
