I had to pause and congratulate him on the spot because it was HUGE. I get it. I’ve been there as a founder moving quickly or as a designer juggling multiple projects and teams. When you’re in the middle of the work, it’s easy to skip over those moments. But every now and then, it’s worth stopping to reflect on the progress you’ve made. Here’s a simple habit to try: Schedule 15 to 30 minutes each week to pause, reflect, and celebrate your wins big or small. One of my favourite tactics for celebrating wins and giving your team recognition that is meaningful to them: Email a summary of the win to your own boss, perhaps even the CEO of the company, and cc your team member(s) who is responsible for the win. If your boss or CEO isn't a natural replier to emails, back channel a message to them and ask them to reply and acknowledge the win. It means more to your team that you'll ever realise to get recognition from those above you.
