🌨❄ Winter is Here! ❄🌨 As the official start of winter arrives, it also brings a host of issues with winter conditions. Cold Water Immersion is no joke. Ice, snow, and slippery surfaces can lead to unexpected accidents, with freezing water posing serious risks such as cold water shock and the life-threatening dangers of immersion. ❗ Quick action and the right skills are crucial in these situations. Water rescue training is vital for your organisation. If you work near or over water the Law requires you to have a water risk strategy in the event of an incident. Training is vital and water rescue equipment is vital like Throw bags, reach poles, and our own EDDE systems Whether you live, work, or visit areas near water this winter: ⚠️ Stay alert around icy edges and snow-covered walkways. 🌡 Dress appropriately for the weather and avoid unnecessary risks. 💡 Understand the signs of cold water shock—being informed can save lives. These courses really are good and Mark is a great teacher. I find it gives my team a good understanding/ knowledge of Health and Safety and why the procedures within the business exist. As a manager if gives me confidence that I’m not just ‘telling’ the team what to do, and they’re blindly following. They have that knowledge so that they know why H&S is so important, and more importantly are likely to flag any concerns/ issues/ risks that they see within the building. I’d highly recommend.
