Did you know? National Philanthropy Day (NPD) was first recognized in 1986, is a day dedicated to celebrating the impact of philanthropy in all its forms—whether through individual giving, corporate social responsibility, or nonprofit efforts. NPD serves as a reminder of how every act of generosity, no matter how big or small, helps shape a better future for all. It honors the work of donors, volunteers, and organizations who are committed to making the world a more just and compassionate place. Today, as we reflect on the importance of philanthropy, let’s take a moment to recognize those who selflessly contribute their time, resources, and expertise to causes that matter. Their efforts create lasting change.

If you haven't considered philanthropy, I'd like to take today—National Philanthropy Day—to educate you on some of the reasons philanthropy can make a positive impact not just for charities or communities, but in your personal life: 🔹 By engaging in philanthropic efforts, families can avoid shirt sleeves to shirt sleeves—it promotes something grander than individual wealth and can teach generations not to spend frivolously. 🔹 Philanthropy gives families an opportunity to bond and pass down core values like connection, communication, and responsibility. 🔹 Philanthropy provides an opportunity for families to strengthen their legacy, both financially and socially. A legacy of giving can become part of a family's past and present to inspire future generations to continue the cycle. And these are just a few of the many benefits. It's never too late to make philanthropy a key part of you and your family's life—let today be a push to begin making this difference. #NationalPhilanthropyDay #Philanthropy #FamilyPhilanthropy

Celebrating National Philanthropy Day: Honoring the Power of Giving On National Philanthropy Day, I’m reflecting on the profound impact that philanthropy and generosity have on our communities, our world, and our lives. Having spent many years in the nonprofit sector, I’ve witnessed firsthand how donors, volunteers, and nonprofit professionals come together to create lasting change. Philanthropy is about so much more than financial contributions—it's about the spirit of giving, the shared commitment to making the world a better place, and the collective belief that, together, we can tackle some of society’s greatest challenges. As a fundraiser, I’ve seen how meaningful relationships—built on trust, collaboration, and a shared vision—fuel transformative change. I’m deeply grateful for the many individuals and organizations I’ve had the honor of working with, all of whom exemplify the true essence of philanthropy, whether through time, talent, treasure, testimony, or ties. To my colleagues in the nonprofit sector, the communities I’ve had the privilege to serve, and to the countless philanthropists whose generosity shapes our world—thank you. Together, we are creating lasting impact. On this National Philanthropy Day, let’s celebrate the power of giving, honor the difference we make, and inspire others to join this movement of change. 💙 #NationalPhilanthropyDay #Philanthropy #GivingBack #NonprofitSector #Fundraising #CFRE #Gratitude #MakingADifference
