We are about to begin a new day for aspiring business owners and I believe that, for those who have been dreaming about leaving corporate life and opening their own businesses, the time is now. We all approached the election with our own set of political beliefs and opinions about who would best lead the country forward, on a variety of issues, and we voted according to those convictions. With the election now in the rearview mirror, I believe we're entering an era rich with entrepreneurial opportunity. Setting aside social issues for a moment and focusing solely on business and the economy, the new year will bring with it a warm, welcoming, and friendly environment for entrepreneurs and innovators. Business friendly policies and incentives, combined with falling interest rates, falling inflation, a booming stock market and 401K plans, and a rebirth of consumer confidence, are creating a climate for entrepreneurship we haven't seen in a very long time. If you're feeling the same thing I'm feeling, let's get together and talk about a plan. Franchise ownership is the safest and most predictable path toward business ownership and I represent about 800 brands across 37 different industries. We'll help you find the right opportunity, be positioned as a high-priority candidate, guide you through the due diligence, identify funding options, connect you with legal representation, and celebrate with you on grand opening day. You can learn more about what we do and how we do it, and begin the conversation at https://lnkd.in/gmciRw-F. #entrepreneurship #businessownership #franchising

Over the last 11 years, I have dedicated my life to building a business, which started with 2 employees, a few basic machines and a small factory unit. That business now turns over several million, employs 20 people as well as several others who are outsourced and who benefit from its success. It has paid hundreds of thousands in tax and helped its many suppliers to grow their businesses too. In short, it has been a force for good. To achieve this, I've fought through many difficult situations, making many personal sacrifices along the way, sometimes feeling like there's no way I could carry on. But I did. And eventually, it worked. But there was no guarantee it would, and many others don't even make it to this stage. We need people who are willing to go out there and take risks, employ people, feel supported by government and embrace the rollercoaster of entrepreneurship. It's not something most people will ever try, and with good reason. It's bloody hard! But the rewards of this enterprising spirit are not just for the individual, they are for society. We need the next star businesses of tomorrow to start today. To be accused by Keir Starmer and Rt Hon Rachel Reeves of not being a 'working person' is not just wrong, it's actually insulting. I don't think it's an exaggeration to say Britain is now in a fight to retain what's left of its entrepreneurial spirit. If there isn't a change of direction by this government, we are heading for even worse times ahead in this country.

Thanks Jan Cavelle. Avoiding debt is one of the ten values of happipreneurship. I don't know any successful entrepreneurs who are still loving what they're doing and have targeted fast growth. Investors, governments and lenders always want fast growth, that's why the #scaleUp movement was created in the USA by venture capitalists and the banks, a couple of decades ago. It is from your loyal, repeat customers and your growing assets that are the foundation of your success. Success in terms of enough wealth, usefulness, fulfilment and happiness. If you're into running your business for the long term, with minimal risk to you and your employees' livelihoods, then you'll grow your business as you build multiple income streams and spot opportunities to make deals to increase turnover and profit. Targeting fast growth without bootstrapping, test trading and enough sector know-how and know-who is why only 10% of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs survive the first three years of trading, whereas 80%+ of Happipreneurs, including the famous UK entrepreneurs whom I'm fortunate to be connected with, have survived for decades. Fast-growth entrepreneurs aim to exit as soon as they can, and happipreneurs never retire - it's a different mindset, especially with regard to debt, risk, sustainability and loyalty/trust of people involved in the venture. Each to their own, I guess. My business partner, of 38 years, Clare and I both had parents that built their businesses over the long term so 'fast growth' never occurred to us or our generation. Ian Farrar, Jenn Crowther, and I don't cover 'fast growth' in the 'Be More Happipreneur' Show as it's about how entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs can make ends meet for their lifetimes, love what they're doing, be useful, put family and friends first, control their own destiny, and be happy at work at least 80% of the time. 😎
Fast growth or slow growth? Huge numbers of aspiring entrepreneurs seem to be obsessed with the idea of fast growth. Get out there, pitch brilliantly, raise a fortune - job done. But there are issues with that, not least that they will have given away a sizeable amount of their business in the process. Both approaches have pros and cons, but slow growth has particular merits. Love to hear your opinions

Couldn't agree more with this. Dear Keir Starmer, It's currently Sunday evening, as a business owner I work most weekends to stay on top of the workload, whether this be order processing, supporting customers, paying suppliers. Like many other business owners, you will still see me most mornings at least 2 hours before many people are even out of bed in the warehouse wrapping parcels, packing pallets and getting customers order out the door. This is to give me a chance to clear the workload before I start doing what my job should entail. Just before going full time in the business, I turned down a Managing Director role with a 6 figure salary to go into the unknown, to take a risk most said I was crazy to do. My business partner and I, took no salary for nearly 2 years to build the business, our families sacrificed much to give us the opportunity to build something which we hoped would give others the opportunity for employment. Remember by targeting SME’s you’re not just taking from us but the many people we will no longer be able to employ. Mr Starmer, I would like to extend an invite to work with myself or any other business owner for just a week, if after a week you are still have the same opinion of us, I'll offer you my apologies. #businessowners #sacrifice #labour

“I owe John and Andy £250,000.” - Andrew Bruce 𝗕𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗬&𝗟, Andrew: • Was in chaos. • Working constantly IN the business. • Lacked structure. • Didn't have many people around him in business. • Lacked the resources needed to scale his business. 𝗡𝗼𝘄, in just over 6 months, Andrew: • Has installed order into his business. • Has a role dedicated to working ON the business. • Has complete structure. • Is surrounded by 75+ other entrepreneurs. • Has everything he needs to scale to his first 6 figure month. At first, I thought Andrew was gonna be a difficult client to work with: 😂 • His replies came after 3-5 business days. • He struggled to make weekly sessions. • He always seemed to be in chaos. But this was all a sign of what he needed help with. (𝘚𝘺𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘮𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘣𝘶𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘳) 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗴𝗼𝗱 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗺𝘆 𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴... 𝗔𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿. A top entrepreneur who always wants to take business and life to the next level: • Cares for others and the relationships he builds. • Takes a ridiculous amount of action. • Is never afraid of just taking that next leap. • And wants to build a monster business. What more could I ask for in a client? Thank you for believing in us when you did Andrew. Couldn't imagine Y&L and especially the Immortals without you! 🙏
