Essential Skills for I/O Psychology and How I am Developing Them Data Interpretation  I take courses in statistics, research methods and computer science. I apply these skills to real life projects and familiarize myself with popular data analysis programs. Analytical Thinking and Problem Solving Through jobs and internships, I take on projects that might be daunting or out of my comfort zone. For example, without prior experience in R, I took on a R based research project and learned as I went. Business Acumen Taking courses in various business areas including BIT, Finance and management is important to me. I also try and collaborate and speak with people outside of my normal work circle to gain a broader understanding of business principles. Cultural and Ethical Competence I read articles on ethical issues in I/O, implicit biases and DEI issues and have discussions with professionals in the field to gain more insights. Collaboration and Communication Participation in team-based meetings and activities is a priority to me, along with reaching out to new people through LinkedIn or email. 🌟 From Rejections to Resilience 🌟 As I near the end of my B.E. journey in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science (AI&DS), I find myself reflecting on the challenges I’ve faced along the way. The tech world offers countless opportunities, but breaking into them has been anything but easy, especially for someone in a specialized field like mine. It all started in my 4th semester when companies began offering internships. The excitement quickly faded as I realized that many roles were not even open to me because of my branch. I faced rejections not only off-campus but also on-campus, and I wasn’t even shortlisted for most of the online assessments. Each rejection was tough. With every "no," I questioned if I was on the right path. The constant disappointment became emotionally draining, and there were moments when I considered giving up. The frustration reached its peak when it felt like opportunities were slipping away faster than I could pursue them. At my lowest, I felt uncertain and demotivated, unsure if my hard work would ever pay off. But then came a golden opportunity—an interview with Turing, a platform that connects talented developers with leading companies like Apple, Microsoft, and Google. Thanks to Ayush Jhindal, who led my interview process, I landed the role as an LLM Python Developer. This felt like the breakthrough I had been waiting for. Now, I work full-time, contributing to exciting projects from home. While Turing may not be a traditional MNC, it aligns perfectly with my field of interest and opens doors to collaborate on impactful projects with global companies. This experience taught me that success doesn’t always follow a straight path. Rejections are just part of the journey, not the end. The most important lesson I’ve learned is that growth comes from challenges. I’m excited to continue honing my skills, learning from industry experts, and contributing to cutting-edge projects.
