The #drone market segment has demonstrated persistent growth in recent years and is projected to increase from 8.2 million units in 2024 to 9.2 million in 2028. Cybersecurity remains one of the biggest pain points, though. At least 20% of companies that use drones have faced at least one cybersecurity breach related to their drone usage. 92% of drones are susceptible to hacking due to weak encryption. The typical designs of drones use Wi-Fi networks with their ground stations or the IEEE 802.11 communication protocol, which are vulnerable to security breaches. Experts divide cybersecurity attacks into four categories: protocol-based attacks, sensor-based attacks, compromised components attacks, and jammer attacks. To protect your drone software from cyber threats, you need to use a "defense in depth" strategy. This comprehensive, multi-layered approach involves AI and ML to ensure robust authentication, secure cryptographic mechanisms, physical security checks for drones, etc. Here are the principles that JetSoftPro employs when working on software for drones to protect them from cyber threats: 1. Determining the maximum operational range, which is the distance the drone can fly from the operator. 2. A handshake occurs between the drone and the operator before sending commands. 3. The program must verify all received commands. 4. All commands are encrypted using a reliable method. 5. The finalized program undergoes penetration testing.

Demonstrating IoT (Drone Hacking) It is still very easy to hack most drones , most of them have security issues regarding authentication , leaving them open (unencrypted) to the wireless world for a hacker to deauthenticate the real-client and take it over with another phone/device. Its important to implement security measures like strong authentication, wireless packet defense and be careful to ever leave it in the hands of untrustful actors who could modify the firmware or hardware for theyre own use cases. #iot #security #cybersecurity #digital #tech #technology #defense #attack #drone #drones #test
