As we reminisced about our humble beginnings and the journey that led us to where we are today, my friend shared a story that truly resonated with me. He vividly recalled a time when he would struggle to grasp the syntax for a simple for loop. 💭 But here's the beautiful part: instead of letting those initial challenges deter him, he persevered. Through countless hours of practice, trial, and error, he slowly but surely honed his skills and gained confidence in his abilities. Fast forward to today, and he's comfortably delving into the world of DevOps, tackling complex challenges with ease and finesse. It's a testament to the power of perseverance and the unwavering belief that with dedication and determination, anything is possible. 💪 This conversation served as a powerful reminder that success in tech isn't just about innate talent or intelligence it's about grit, resilience, and the willingness to push through obstacles, no matter how daunting they may seem. This week has been special because it's Katana Cloud Inventory birthday! To celebrate, we're participating in an influencer challenge, posting something new every day. 🎉 🌟 It's been amazing to see the variety of posts from my colleagues. For example, Allan Paiste insights on AI and Torsten Schmickler story of discovering Katana have been particularly inspiring(there are many more). Some posts are filled with humor and memes, while others are more serious and informative. I'm genuinely impressed with the quality and knowledge shared, especially from those posting for the first time. 🤐 Honestly, this challenge has made me consider restarting DeveloperHabits (https://lnkd.in/dyrJeyXp). Although maintaining it was time-consuming, the benefits were immense. Writing and creating videos helped clarify my thoughts, facilitate discussions with others, connected me with brilliant minds through collaborations and podcasts, boosted my personal brand, and even caught the attention of bigger companies. However, the commitment was significant. Creating a single video used to take me around 12 hours on average, often after regular work hours. The main reason I paused was the pressure to constantly feed the algorithm to grow. This led to a cycle of delays—one week turned into two, and now it's been almost two years since my last video. If I were to start again, I'd need a strong WHY that's not related to growing the channel. The key takeaway from this experience is that creating content as a developer is a powerful way to advance your career. It's a challenging journey, but consistency brings quick and rewarding results. So...if you want to grow faster, think about giving blogging or Youtube'ing a try!

#Appreciation post for all those out there sharing knowledge for free! So I discovered MeetUp last week, if you haven't noticed it by my posts... I know, I know, I'm late to the party. It's because I'm not exactly what you'd call a social butterfly. I'm more like a bumblebee, which shouldn't be able to fly according to the known laws of physics, but somehow does anyway, loudly and awkwardly bumping into things as it does... So yeah, this was a huge step out of my comfort zone, and I was super creative with the excuses I made to put it off. But booooy, I was DEAD WRONG. Seriously though, the benefits these meetups have brought me in a very short period of time far outweigh the discomfort I had to overcome. I've gained so much knowledge and insights from experts, that the ROI is exponential. I'm motivated and inspired, and I honestly can't recommend it enough. So consider this a(nother) #shoutout to all the people there sharing their expertise for free, holding workshops and dedicating their time and hard-earned knowledge to the betterment of the agile community (yes, COMMUNITY, this is exactly what a community does). And they do this, despite their own struggles, their day-to-day lives, and despite (or in spite? 😈) the trolls who don't know any better way to feel better about themselves than to bring other people down. For someone who unexpectedly lost a steady stream of income end of last year and isn't exactly the epitome of financial stability at this point (namely, me), this is a HUGE asset, a source of knowledge and a way to remain active in the industry. So, thank you and keep it up, there's people out here that really appreciate you guys! And, gee, I hope this was gay enough! ❤️ 💜 💙 💚 💛

Ever since I was a kid, the idea of making movies has been a dream of mine. 🍿🎥🎬🎞 The flickering images, the characters who seemed so real, the music that added another depth of emotion to the scenes. I wanted to be part of creating those worlds, of bringing stories to life. Back in 2019 I did the coding bootcamp Hack Reactor and created a "Day in the life of" video about what it was like to be a Hack Reactor Coding bootcamp student. The program was so inspiring in how effective it was at teaching people who came from all walks of life how to code. I thought the world needed to know because for many, including myself it was life changing. It was my first youtube video and it got almost 100,000 views. People still message in the comments whether I got a job as a developer (never did 😉) In August 2023 last year I started leading marketing for Warmly. At first I created a live docu-series of how we were going about creating a new category to break into the competitive sales tech space.(You can see these clips in my highlights section). I thought by putting these clips out there in the world it was a forcing function to actually manifest the goal of getting Warmly's name out there. When I went to Hubspot's Inbound conference in October I met a few people who responded positively to seeing my clips of "building in public." "Love what you're doing here." I made a bet to invest in video because I thought it would build a stronger brand with our audience. Created more video content like video case studies, educational "how to" from our sales team, our Revenue Rebels podcast, and "Life at Warmly" clips, published daily. Very quickly people started to know our brand, and I started to get comments in first meetings on Zoom that they've watched a few of my videos and that helped them get to know me. But as much as I loved these small projects, I always knew I wanted more. The dream wasn’t just about making videos—it was about creating something useful that would be seen by the world...
