I chose PZ Cussons. In fact, I chose PZ Cussons twice! When thinking about my rationale for joining PZC my usual direct, nonchalant response kicked in immediately - that's simple, great people, great brands and great opportunities. But that doesn't make for good reading, nor does it give the fantastic journey I've had at this business the justice it deserves... "Great people, great brands and great opportunities" what did I actually mean by this, and why did it bring me to PZ Cussons not once, but twice? Great People The culture here is unlike any I've worked... a culture of true collaboration and striving to get the best results, together, underpinned by what can only be described as an infectious warmth. There is an uncanny friendliness and a real invitation to be yourself - professionalism married with authenticity. Great Brands The brands speak for themselves - an incredible portfolio of household names. Watching each individual brand navigate its space in the market, the successes, the opportunities and the top-secret innovation pipelines demonstrating what's to come instil a real internal pride that you get to play a small part in their success. Be warned though... you find yourself slowly and unconsciously becoming a Brand Ambassador for all things PZC - my friends have no doubt become jaded by me questioning their shopping choices and the random products that seem to involuntarily appear around their households. My mum on the other hand - big fan. Great Opportunities Great opportunities can be summed up in two words: Growth and Exposure. The paradox of being a "big, small business." A business where you can truly wrap your arms around a piece of work and own it end to end, with the merit and complexity of being a larger, matrixed organisation; an environment perfect for seizing opportunities, true accountability and growth. I have done three vastly different roles during my time at PZ Cussons, only one of which was (kind-of) built into any form of career plan. After the first, I made the decision to leave, largely due to the fact I just wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my career. After a year at another organisation, a call from my old HR Director and a discussion about a role I didn't even know existed, in a field of HR I knew knowing about, I came back! It was challenging, but I don't regret a thing. If you're proactive, open-minded and face into the multitude of opportunities which arise in this progressive and ever-changing business, PZC really is one hell of a place to work! So yeah, I chose PZ. And I continue to choose PZ every day. #ProudlyPZ #IChosePZ
