In honor of AAC Awareness Month 2024, we're asking (and answering) the question: "What's in your AAC toolbox?" 🛠 The tools and strategies found within the Pyramid Approach to Education and the PECS protocol can be used to help learners succeed using many different AAC modalities! This month we'll be sharing examples of success with low-tech and high-tech options from learners with a range of skills and experience. When evidence-based strategies are used, the outcomes we see are more meaningful and lasting. Our goal is to help those who use alternative and augmentative communication be successful and as independent as possible in their homes, schools, places of work, and communities.
