When creating a Puppi Lovers profile, the images you choose can have a huge impact on getting matches. Here are some tips on the types of photos to help you find the pawfect match! 1. Show you and your doggo together People on Puppi Lovers want to meet and date other dog lovers. Showing a photo of you and your dog will make you look caring and approachable 2. Show Your Face Clearly Choose a clear, high-quality photo where your face is visible, and you’re smiling. Avoid using sunglasses or hats that cover your face. 3. Activity-Based Photos Add photos that show you doing something you enjoy. This provides conversation starters and highlights your personality. 4. Candid Smiles Natural, candid moments where you’re genuinely laughing or smiling tend to be more appealing than forced or overly serious expressions. 5. Avoid Overly Edited or Filtered Photos People are more likely to respond positively to authentic and natural photos, so avoid using too many filters or edits that distort reality.

On the lead up to my awareness day #nationaldogphotographyday this Friday I'm bringing back the 5 day challenge! Want some simple ways to take better photographs of your dog, then make sure you check in each day :) First tip - LIGHT For me, this is THE most important lesson (and the one I get the most excited about) for taking a great photograph of your dog. All the other lessons can contribute to it, but without getting this right, nothing else matters. Before you even raise the camera to take a photo of your dog, I want you to look at their face and see how light is hitting it. Is one side in shadow? Is the face quite dark? A great indicator is if you can you see any nice little spots of lights in the eyes? (See the example with Buddy). If the dogs face is in shadow and dark, can you move them round? Can you move around? One thing to steer clear of is having your dog face the harsh sun, not good for your dogs eyes, and hard sun can over saturate colours. For this tip I want you to take several photo’s in the same location, but change the direction your dog is facing. Have fun and let me know how you get on! Kerry x

Ever wondered why dogs tilt their heads? 🐶 It's not just an adorable quirk. This behavior actually highlights their incredible perceptive abilities and dynamic bond with humans. Whether it's to improve their hearing, express empathy, communicate, enhance their vision, engage in play, seek attention, or alleviate discomfort, head tilting showcases how attuned they are to their environment and our emotions. From personal experiences, I've noticed how a simple head tilt from my dog can bridge the gap between misunderstanding and connection. It's fascinating to think about how such a small gesture can speak volumes. How does your pet’s unique behavior enhance your connection with them? This week, I’m visiting my dad in Poland, and his adorable white Maltese dog inspired this post. Why post a photo with your pet? 1. Grabs Attention: Let’s be real—everyone loves cute cat and dog photos! 2. Shows a Personal Side: Sharing a bit of your life helps your audience connect with the real you. 3. Boosts Engagement: Pets are an easy conversation starter. Who doesn’t love talking about their furry friends? So, this week’s challenge is simple: take a selfie with your beloved pet! Here are my top 3 tips for a flattering selfie: 1. Find good lighting: Natural light is your best friend for clear, bright photos. 2. Chin forward and slightly down: Pushing your chin forward and tilting it slightly down can define your jawline and prevent shadows. It’s a small adjustment that makes a big difference! 3. Focus on the connection: Smile, laugh, or interact with your pet to capture a candid, warm moment. No pet? No problem! Borrow a friend’s pet or take a photo with your favorite childhood toy. It’s all about sharing something personal that shows a bit of who you are. Have fun, and I can’t wait to see all your amazing pics!

#MyCatDoesThat: Ever seen your cat scent-mark using the glands in their cheeks? If you have, this Pallas's cat from Mongolia might remind you of something. Scent-marking lets other cats know that an individual cat is in the area, something both domestic and wild cats want to know about! Does your cat do this? Share a photo or video of your cat mimicking this behavior. Make sure to use the hashtag #MyCatDoesThat so we can re-share it! Learn more about Pallas's cats: https://bit.ly/3CXpZRD

Gemini: If one counts a dog's tail as a leg, how many legs does a dog have? -If we count a dog's tail as a leg, then a dog would have 5 legs. How can you count a tail as a leg? -You can't count a tail as a leg, even if you call it a leg. A tail is not a leg, and calling it a leg doesn't change its function or structure. A dog still has four legs, regardless of what you call its tail.

Beauty Beyond the Norm: Celebrating Unconventional Cats Beauty is often perceived through a narrow lens, especially when it comes to animals. The glossy coats, symmetrical faces, and bright eyes of conventionally attractive cats dominate social media feeds and advertising campaigns. However, for those willing to look beyond these ideals, unconventional cats—those deemed "ugly" or unusual—possess an extraordinary beauty that defies the norms. These unique felines remind us that true beauty is found in individuality and resilience. Unconventional cats stand apart from the crowd with their distinctive features. Perhaps they have a scruffy coat, a crooked tail, or an unusual expression. Some may have missing fur, mismatched eyes, or scars from a rough past. While these traits might seem less "perfect" at first glance, they give these cats an undeniable charm. Each quirk tells a story, reflecting their journey and struggles, making them unforgettable. Their differences turn them into living works of art—one-of-a-kind creatures whose beauty lies in their uniqueness. Have you noticed that when a dog is being spoken to, it often tilts its head? Dogs tilt their heads when you speak to them to better pinpoint familiar words. Your dog is tilting its head when you speak to it to pinpoint where noises are coming from more quickly. This is done to listen out more accurately for familiar words such as 'treats' and helps them to better understand the tone of your voice. If a dog doesn't tilt its head that often (as those with shorter muzzles might), it's because it relies less on sound and more on sight. We can take the tilting as a signal that our four legged friend is engaged in the conversation with us and actively listening to what we say. Have a photo of your dog to share? Post it below!
