This is an interesting summary of sci-fi films since the 1950s (by Alvin Chang with the help of ChatGPT and Claude). The need for #imaginationtraining has never been more dire. Imagining alternative positive futures is exactly what we do at Institute for the Future's #UrgentOptimist community (link in the comments). It doesn't come easy for most people. We all grew up reading and watching dystopian fiction, plus there are plenty of reasons to think the near future is about to be catastrophically worse given what's happening right now on many fronts. But you can develop the ability to imagine how things could be different, and that imagining can be transformed into a plan of action. The only way out of the mess we've gotten ourselves into is to first imagine how things could be different. Imagine how we got out of this mess. Imagine what YOU did and how your unique combination of knowledge, ability, and resources contributed to a better world. And then use that as your roadmap. #futuresthinking #foresight

"Does the loss of grand narratives threaten our culture and our belief in ourselves? "...if once we saw ourselves at the edge of history pushing progress forward on all fronts, today many lack an overall account of the world and where we are going... "Does the loss of grand narratives threaten our culture and our belief in ourselves? " We are heirs to a grand narrative from the 19th Century, of PROGRESS through technological innovation and economies of scale within a lived experience that Nature is vast, and we are not, so we can and should just take and take and take from Nature, without ever reckoning with the consequences of our takings, because those consequences would always just disappear into an infinitely receding Frontier for geobiophysical expansion, that got converted over the course of the 20th Century into GROWTH as the simple numerical increase in transaction values measured as prices paid in money, from one period of measurement to the next, on the axiomatic (and therefor unquestioned and unquestionable - divine right of kins, anyone?) assertion that more quantities of money for some will also always equate to a better quality of life for all, culminating in the financialization of our world in the Post-War Years. This grand narrative of PROGRESS crashed into the new reality that Nature is still vast, but so now are we, and the end of the Frontier, as the 19th Century ended and the 20th Century began. Our first response was economic booms busting into industrialized warfare on a planetary scale. Twice. Followed by a Cold War on a planetary scale that evolved into an Arms Race on a planetary scale that evolved into a Space Race, and a revised theory of the Infinite Frontier as Space ("to explore strange new worlds; to seek out new life and new civilizations; to boldly go where no man has gone before!") that fizzled out with a whimper at 10:58pm EDT on July 29, 1969, when US Astronaut Neil Armstrong took his historic "one small stope for a man, one giant leap for Mankind". We ventured into Space expecting to find a New Frontier for continued infinite expansion and endless recklessly unreckoning taking from Nature. When we got there, all we found was rocks. And this New Reality: we have the earth, and it is well and truly ours; also, it is what we have. What came next was Gordon Gecko, and the new grand narrative that Greed is Good. What we have now is Donald Trump, and a new grand narrative, that Being Bad is Being Good. What will come next? I predict Prudent Stewardship of Social Trusts financially engineering socially beneficial cash flows for income ongoing into a secure future and safety ongoing into a dignified future, accountable to the common sense of the circumstances then prevailing as humanity living together in society, through economy, using money, on a planetary scale in the 21at Century, and beyond, in a new Human partnership with Nature that will be interactive, and no longer recklessly extractive.

May the Force Bee with.... Jung defines the Individuation process as an expression of our own originality through collective and universal attraction points called archetypes. But can we imagine that an entire Planet or Universe has his own individuation? If so, how can we synchronise our personal Universe, with the collective one? Using the archetypal field of Star Wars Episodes 1-9, Ready Player One, Arrival and a surprise movie, we will explore how to ‘travel’ through parallel universes or parallel time and extract valuable information about our Individuation in 2021. We will use these movies to explore the concept of ‘Symphonicity,’ a new way to see synchronicity on a collective level. and learn how to extract Archetypal Ideas from the projection of our collective archetypical field on the screen that help inspire us in creativity in our lives. We will then create a game to learn together the necessity of meeting the Unexpected and the necessary chances in our lives by using Arrival and a mystery movie. This psycho-philo-poetic game is inspired by 20 years of research in my six books which I continue in the article: ‘The Space of Time: Synchronicity as an Act of Creation in Nature and Psyche’ that will be published in the next Pari Perspectives. https://lnkd.in/ev8UXXKp Un apercu de cette conference est disponible ici https://lnkd.in/eDFsjQtj

The vision presented by Mannix Smith is undeniably ambitious and thought-provoking. It aims at harnessing the latent potential within humanity to propel civilization forward towards a new and more advanced era. The emphasis on transformative models and the understanding of various elements like the mind, subconscious, energy, creativity, and leadership indicates a holistic approach towards personal and collective evolution. Mannix's commitment to empowering individuals and steering humanity away from a path of potential destruction is both admirable and inspiring. The dedication and perseverance demonstrated in creating transformative models and collaborating with significant minds in the field emphasize a deep understanding of human potential and the importance of self-analysis and growth. Overall, Mannix's vision offers a compelling narrative of hope, transformation, and unity in a quest to lead humanity towards a brighter future.
