Release manager experience is critical for this role. ·         Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle. ·         Communicate the project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams. ·         Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates. ·         Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected. ·         Track the progress and find issues, if any. I got my first job in the Salesforce ecosystem based on my experience in project management. What experience do you have? Customer service? Accounting? Sales Operations? Business Analysis? Agile? Project Management? The list basically never ends. Look at the job listings for Salesforce roles… Then look to see what other jobs are listed for the same company that align with your experience. Apply for those jobs. Once onboard, network your way to meet with the Salesforce team(s). Volunteer for projects involving those teams. Work on obtaining certifications. Finally, when a role is available, you’re positioned to be on the short list of internal candidates rather than an outsider. Hope this perspective helps.
