Why am I so passionate about social housing availability? It was reported recently that over 138,000 children in the UK are living in temporary accommodation. This statistic would break your heart when you think about your family and how much you’d do anything to make sure they never experienced similar, never mind 138,000 children. For every new social home built, six families find themselves without a home. This isn’t just a policy issue; it’s a crisis impacting real lives all over our country. While this is a massive issue, that’s not easily fixed, we can play our part and help reduce this number. By working with housing providers and providing them with properties that house upto 4 people, we’re so proud to say we’ve housed over 6,000 people so far and that number is climbing every day 🥰 We’re offering amazing returns for investors that not only alleviate the crisis but also offer opportunities for positive social investing. Love being a part of the change ✨♥️ #investmentopportunities #socialhousing #investment #property #propertyinvestment #propertyopportunities #propertyinvestor #passiveinvesting #investinguk #SocialHousingSuccess #propertyinvestor

The Housing Australia Future Fund (HAFF) is part way through it's first round and it has been announced that 50,167 homes in 673 separate applications have been made. This is a significant number of future homes awaiting government funding for delivery and well surpasses the 40,000 home target for Housing Australia, a significant undertaking. HAFF works by providing an indexed availability payment to CHP led/partnered investors over 25 years in return for Affordable & Social Housing. The average application has been 75 homes and made up of a range of dwelling types including housing, amalgamated units & apartment buildings in one line. Immersed in all things residential, M&G’s Chris Jeffs shares his views on how to lift some of the barriers facing investors in affordable housing in this thought-provoking article by Property Week on the opportunities and challenges around providing single-family housing. Read more here https://ow.ly/SnT050SttYR Undoubtedly, institutional capital is a fundamental part of the solution to the UK’s housing problem, yet – as the article highlights – obstacles range from a lack of public funding to a shortage of available land and a lengthy and complex planning process. In Chris’s view, releasing more publicly owned land, increasing subsidies or incentives for favoured tenures and streamlining the planning process could go a long way to overcoming some of these issues. He also highlighted the importance of collaboration between the public and private sectors in order to boost investment and create more affordable housing. “Helping to create a common language to enable better communication between two very different types of organisations will also be vital to be able to achieve the shared goal of putting institutional capital to work in the social housing sector,” he noted. #MandGRealEstate #marketingcommunication
