Uzbekistan Grants More Autonomy to Special Economic Zones Uzbekistan has streamlined the management of its Special Economic Zones (SEZs) by abolishing administrative councils and granting SEZ directorates increased autonomy. A new law signed on December 5 empowers directorates to approve investment proposals, allocate land, and oversee infrastructure projects, cutting bureaucracy and expediting decision-making. The changes aim to attract investments and accelerate project implementation by removing requirements like expert evaluations of business plans. Proposed reforms include expanding permissible activities in SEZs and allowing private operators. For more: https://lnkd.in/gwwRsfJW #Uzbekistan #SEZReforms #Investment #EconomicDevelopment

Contrary to expectations of fostering unity in Libya's executive authority, this budget appears to reinforce the existing status quo. Notably, it formalizes the CBL Governor Sadiq al-Kabir's controversial practice of funding both rival governments in the nation, shedding light on the complexities of Libya's political landscape. This move underscores the challenges faced in achieving genuine cohesion and stability in the region. #Libya #PoliticalAnalysis Read more: https://buff.ly/3S6Z91e
