𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 Ralph Vugts from Flora Partners is enthusiastic about the BBLeap system and is the perfect example of a farmer who wants to see something work before committing to it. After witnessing the system in action, he was convinced and decided to install it in February 2024. He shares: “The BBLeap system as it is now is stable and works really well. We do everything ourselves here, but I’m not a pioneer who jumps on the first new system. We looked at another farmer in the middle of the country who has been using it for a few years, and that was the deciding factor for us, as we saw that the system really works.” "Yes, pioneering is exciting, and we’re involved in it, but we see that as a secondary priority – the foundation has to be solid. Since BBLeap has been running for a few years now, we decided to join in." "We did tests using water-sensitive paper to check how the droplets fall and how well the coverage is. The results were convincing: the droplet distribution and coverage are good – even better than before. Briggs rolled his shirt, pulled up his laptop and notebook, got down with the first task. 1) Understanding the Problem Briggs first task was to immerse himself in the problem space. He spent the first month talking to users both farmers and restaurant owners trying to understand their pain points. He wanted to know: What do farmers struggle with most when selling their produce? What frustrates restaurant owners when sourcing fresh ingredients? What features in the app are they using, and which ones do they ignore? He also studied the competitive landscape, examining how other companies were trying to solve the same problem. But Briggs wasn’t just gathering enough information he was looking for patterns and underlying needs that could inform FarmLink future. Next is Finding the Core Vision After weeks of research, Briggs began to identify the core issue: FarmLink wasn’t just a platform for selling produce; it was about building trust between farmers and urban buyers. Farmers needed reliable buyers who would pay fair prices, and restaurant owners needed a consistent, high-quality supply of fresh produce. The solution wasn’t just about logistics; it was about fostering relationships and trust through transparency and communication. Briggs began to craft the product vision around this insight: "FarmLink will become the most trusted platform for connecting farmers and restaurants, ensuring fresh, reliable produce delivered directly from the farm to the table, with transparency at every step of the process."
