"What do you recommend to say to stakeholders who request “poverty porn”-style stories?" We have been asked variations of this question time and time again... 💣 The truth is: Nonprofit professionals are ready to adopt ethical storytelling practices, but they worry about how to get their entire community on board. So, we asked the experts. And, thankfully, our friends Megan Donahue, Christina Tzavaras Edwards, Erika Spence and Jordana Merkin had great suggestions to share! We synthesized them into three actionable steps: Step 1️⃣: Have Tough Conversations & Be Prepared to Give Grace Step 2️⃣: Make a Communications Plan & Gather Buy-In Step 3️⃣: Build Community & Raise More Funds Full article: https://lnkd.in/e9UDhRbV #ethicalstorytelling #exploitativestories

🧡 What Does Reconciliation Mean? 🧡 Reconciliation is the ongoing process of healing, understanding, and building respectful relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities and people. It involves acknowledging the painful legacy of Residential Schools, honoring survivors, and working towards a future built on truth, justice, and equality. Wearing an orange shirt on September 30th is a simple but powerful way to connect with this process. It’s a statement that you stand with Indigenous communities in remembering the past and committing to a better future. When you wear orange, you say, "Every Child Matters," and show your support for the ongoing journey of healing and reconciliation. How You Can Get Involved: - Purchase an orange shirt to symbolize your commitment to reconciliation. https://lnkd.in/eHFa6FPF - Learn about the history of Residential Schools and their impact on Indigenous communities. - Support Indigenous-led initiatives like Anishnawbe Health Foundation, a registered charity that works with generous donors and partners to support improved health and well-being for the Indigenous community in Toronto. Wear orange for awareness, action, and reconciliation. 🧡

💼 "Responsibility is the price of freedom." — Elbert Hubbard nailed it with this one. In the nonprofit community, we know that freedom isn’t free. We’re all about creating change and lifting up our communities—but that kind of freedom comes with a big responsibility: to do it right, to act with purpose, and to serve with integrity. ✊🏾 With election season around the corner, this message hits even harder. Voting isn’t just a right; it’s a responsibility. It’s a way to advocate for our communities and make sure the issues that matter to us are front and center. If we’re going to talk about real change, it starts here. 🗳️ So, how are you showing up responsibly—in your work, in your service, and yes, at the polls? ⬇️ Drop your thoughts below, and let’s inspire each other to lead with purpose and make every action count. #SocialResponsibility #NonprofitImpact #NonprofitLeadership #VoteResponsibly #ElectionSeason

When it comes to philanthropy, trust is everything. At All Access, we understand that the impact of your generosity depends on how effectively it's used. That's why we are so encouraged to hear members like Walter Chandler say, "I trust that everything I give to All Access is being used effectively to help as many people as possible." Our goal is to steward money into high-impact programs that reach the most impoverished and unreached corners of the globe. We strive to change the narrative of giving, moving away from traditional methods to a strategy that maximizes every dollar for the greatest good. Together, we can make a difference in the mission to end global spiritual and physical poverty.

Are you living out your family's mission? Your mission is your family's role to play in God's plan. It shapes your daily life. For example, if part of your mission includes loving others generously, you might consider how you could love others with your words during the week, like sharing words of affirmation. If your family's mission involves serving others, volunteer together at a nonprofit in your community. If part of your mission is to share God’s word, you may want to contribute to causes that expand access to the Bible, such as through translation or ministry. Living out your family's mission is one of the most powerful ways not only to teach your children what matters most, but also to impact the world for good.
