Did You Know? The first computer programmer in history was Ada Lovelace, way back in the 1840s! She worked on Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine and envisioned its potential for more than just calculations—she predicted it could create music, graphics, and beyond. Her visionary ideas laid the foundation for modern programming as we know it. Talk about being ahead of her time! What’s a tech fact that amazes you? Share it with us! I've been teaching myself C++ with a focus on 3D engines, here's one I've been working on! It's fascinating how much is going on under the surface of even basic graphics. There's a ton of things I've taken for granted and it was a challenge to learn all the maths involved. It also makes it clear how smart the demo scene people are. Obviously there are a million fully featured 3D engines already but I think this is a great way to learn how they work and build my C++ skills in the meantime! Next steps: clipping, handing z depth for intersecting polygons, specular Here's the source code if anyone is curious: https://lnkd.in/gDv4WsHr

Just completed a fun project: built a ray tracer in C++ following the new 4th edition of "Ray Tracing in One Weekend" (just released a few days ago) by Peter Shirley and the team! I did this to sharpen my C++ skills and revisit the path tracer I first tackled in Rust about two years ago. It's amazing how a simple algorithm can create such realistic images. Computer Graphics is awesome. #Cpp #RayTracing #GraphicsProgramming
