Calling all life science-related PhD students, postdocs, and MD students! Are you interested in exploring a highly dynamic and creative scientific environment to discover the impact you can have as an innovator? Are you looking to expand your repertoire of career options that use the skills you've learned throughout your training? Come join us for an information session about Pre-Amp's venture creation studio and summer fellowship program. We are scientists with entrepreneurial mindsets working towards the creation of innovative companies in the biotech industry and are looking for the next generation to join our growing team. Join us on November 28th from 6:00-7:30PM at University College 52 (UC52). Our info session will include a 30 minute presentation by Eric Desjardins and Laura DiGiovanni followed by Q&A. Pre-Amp, founded by Amplitude Ventures, is an engine to discover, incubate, and fund innovation on jet-fuel. Our goal is to accelerate innovation by advancing seed concepts through an efficient process and integrating the appropriate collaborations with academics, industrial partners, and seasoned company builders to forge positive change for patients, sooner. Our summer fellowship program is a crucial part of our company creation process, aimed at refining seed concepts, proposing and de-risking high-impact venture hypotheses. This full-time, three-month paid fellowship equips participants with the skills to turn ideas into actionable strategies, assess opportunities, and understand the timing of breakthroughs. Additionally, it may lead to a venture associate role at Pre-Amp after completion. We have now had 4 classes of fellows from our summer venture creation fellowship program who have moved forward with promising careers in the biotechnology industry in Canada and North America; either starting their own enterprises as Founders or working at leading institutions such as investment positions at Bloom Burton & Co., Toronto Innovation Acceleration Partners, and BoxOne Ventures, scientists at Deep Genomics and the Global Institute for Food Security, and venture associate positions at Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine and here at Pre-Amp!
