📊 Crafting Effective Dashboard Strategies for Actionable Insights 📊 Creating a dashboard is more than just placing data into charts. It's about designing a powerful tool that drives decisions and simplifies complex questions for the users. Here’s how you can implement a winning dashboard strategy: 🎯 Dashboard Purpose: Begin by defining the dashboard's purpose based on your audience. Whether it’s for the social marketing team or C-suite executives, the dashboard should serve their unique needs. 👥 User-Centric Design: Identify key stakeholders and their core business question—e.g., “How is Facebook performing as a marketing tool?” Align every element of the dashboard with this question. 🔍 Simplified Navigation: Make it easy! Tools like Domo allow intuitive navigation with pages, subpages, and collections, ensuring users can quickly find answers to pressing business questions. 📈 Focused Information: Highlight crucial data using clear sections and Hero Cards for key metrics, like an “Executive Pulse” section for high-level insights. 🗂 Organized Data for Speed: Name visualizations effectively, break big questions into smaller, digestible insights, and organize the data to make decision-making a breeze. The real magic? 🪄 When dashboards transform complex data into clear, actionable insights that any team member can leverage. #DataAnalytics #DashboardDesign #BusinessIntelligence #MarketingInsights #UserExperience #ExecutiveDashboards #Domo #DataVisualization #DecisionMaking #DataStrategy #LinkedInCommunity #BusinessGrowth

It's high time #DataVisualization tool vendors stop advertising their products as #DataStorytelling tools. It's understandable that their marketing teams have a job to do and need to hype up the value of the tool. However, this is a stretch for obvious reasons: - Individual charts can never provide a complete story. - Adding context to individual data sets is not enough for the audience to understand the overall message. - Simply linking a series of data charts without cause and effect does not create a narrative. - A data insight has little value without addressing the 'So what?' question and a follow-up recommendation. All it takes to build a bridge between data insight and data story is an appropriate narrative structure. What's your experience building narratives out of visualizations?

🚩 10 Key Mistakes to Avoid in Your Dashboards When it comes to business intelligence, a clean, functional dashboard is key to effective decision-making. Yet, many dashboards fall into the same traps, making it harder for users to derive real value. 👉 Here are 10 key mistakes to avoid when creating your next dashboard: 1️⃣ Information Overload 📍Example: Trying to display every sales figure from the past year in one view. Instead, focus on quarterly performance, with an option to drill down. 2️⃣ Ignoring User Needs Don't guess—ask! For instance, a marketing team might care more about campaign performance than overall revenue. 3️⃣ Wrong Chart Types Pie charts for comparing three items? Sure. For 20 items? Not so much. A bar chart might work better for detailed comparisons. 4️⃣ Messy Design Imagine a dashboard with mismatched fonts and color chaos—it’s hard to follow, right? Keep it consistent to make the data shine. 5️⃣ Not Mobile-Friendly Ensure a smooth experience on mobile devices. No one wants to pinch-and-zoom to read their KPIs while on the go. 6️⃣ Missing Context Numbers alone don’t tell the story. Add benchmarks like last year's performance to clarify whether a 5% increase is good or bad. 7️⃣ Slow Loading A dashboard that takes forever to load kills productivity. Keep your queries optimized for speed. 8️⃣ Lack of Interaction Want to compare regions? Make that data clickable. Adding filters allows users to customize their view based on what matters to them. 9️⃣ Poor Data Quality Outdated or inaccurate data is a dealbreaker. Always display the last update time so users trust the data. 🔟 No Iteration Your first version isn't the last. Gathering feedback regularly can help refine and enhance the dashboard’s usability over time. 💡 Dashboards should be a tool for data-driven decisions, not just data display. 👉 What’s your go-to tip for creating better dashboards? Hint: It's all about keeping it clean and clutter-free! 🧹 In today's digital age, information overload is a real struggle. That's why, it should be our mission to design dashboards that prioritize clarity and simplicity without sacrificing functionality. 💡 Less is more. By streamlining data visualization and focusing on key metrics, we should empower users to make informed decisions at a glance. Hello #connections!✨ 🚀 I'm excited to share an interactive dashboard I built to track and analyze online sales data! 🌐📊 This dashboard uses advanced features to give deep insights with easy-to-use filters and slicers. I connected and combined data from different sources, making it possible for users to interact with the data and see it in various visual formats. You can find different types of charts like 📊 bar charts, 🥧 pie charts, 🍩 donut charts, 📉 scatter charts, 📈 line charts, 🌍 maps, and more. Each type of chart helps to make the data clear and easy to understand, so users can spot trends and make smart decisions. Big thanks to Rishabh Mishra for his amazing guidance and mentorship throughout this project! 👏 This tool turns raw data into valuable insights for businesses. #DataVisualization #BusinessIntelligence #OnlineSales #Analytics #Dashboard #DataScience #BigData #Collaboration #Innovation #SalesAnalytics #InteractiveDashboard #DataDriven #Visualization #Teamwork #Mentorship

How to make your dashboard live longer and make a difference in the organisation. The most important question!! How users are going to use the dashboard to drive change? - Is it generating right insights - Can users understand without having to read a document or a guide - Is it helping in decision making
