Exciting News: Dr. Philip Empey will be honored at the upcoming PMWC - Precision Medicine World Conference🏆 on Feb 5-7, 2025 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Dr. Empey is a true leader in #pharmacogenomics and precision medicine. As the Associate Director for Pharmacogenomics at the Institute for Precision Medicine UPMC at University of Pittsburgh, he has spearheaded transformative initiatives like the PreciseRX and Test2Learn programs, advancing the integration of pharmacogenomics into clinical practice, research, and education. He also directs the @University of Pittsburgh–Thermo Fisher Scientific Pharmacogenomics Center of Excellence, where his team is deploying population-scale preemptive pharmacogenomic testing to over 150,000 patients in western Pennsylvania. With NIH-funded research, Dr. Empey is making incredible strides in understanding drug response variability in critically ill patients, exploring transporter pharmacogenomics, and driving the discovery of genotype-phenotype relationships. His passion for precision medicine is matched by his dedication to education, teaching at the graduate level in pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics, and drug transporters.
