I absolutely love the work that Luke Cook and the Cuppa TV team are doing. In this increasingly beige world of algorithmic 'thinking'—where everything is flattened into 'content'—Cuppa Conversations offers something much more alive. These aren’t just discussions; they breathe. They take risks, and they hold meaning. Every time I tune in, I’m reminded of what’s being lost in the wash of algorithmic "content-isation*." *entirely made up word*.... Take Yemi Penn (Nee Solanke)'s conversation on trauma in the workplace—raw and deeply personal—or Yasmin London’s challenging us to rethink the digital spaces we inhabit. Founders are routinely staring into the horizon where our vision lies. But how do we bend reality to meet that vision? This challenge boils down to two core questions: 1. What do we need to believe for our vision to become reality? I’ve never meet a successful founder without a deep-rooted belief in the possibility of what we aim to achieve. We need to believe: - In Our Vision: Our vision isn't just a dream; it's our future. It's the North Star guiding our actions and decisions. - In Our Capability: We have the skills, resources, and resilience to overcome obstacles and make our vision a reality. - In Innovation: Embracing innovation as a continuous journey that enables us to break resistance and create real, unique value. - In Our Team: Our team is the secret weapon. Their perspectives and talents are crucial to achieving our goals. 2. What does the world need to believe for our vision to thrive? Learning about this tool some time in 2022, and my brain felt so relieved to be able to articulate what is in my head onto paper : to bridge communities, resources, interests, wants and needs, offers and requests. In 2023, I asked Michael Ong and Tim Wieringa if they will be conducting another session, so that more people can be introduced to the tool. I firmly believed that more people need to be have an opportunity to interact with it, and experience it. And another session was organised and conducted. For this session, I invited Aifa Ahmad and Amy Kang Metaphysics to experience and experiment with it, and they found it useful too! So, this year, we decided, to make it available to as many people as possible, in the form of a website! So, if you feel you have a thought, an idea, a community, that will benefit from articulating the thoughts on paper, and then sharing it to others before meeting with them, you might want to consider trying this out! It was such a fun and playful process with Michael, Tim and Tze Chin Tang crafting the website, and I learnt so much from them about Ai (capybaras, sharks, dogs and cats were all part of the process, together with #chatgpt, #gemini and the works!)
