What's the most important part of this debate? Citywire have done some great work on putting a spotlight to tailored (partnership) models. Although we have this offering available at Binary, we don't believe it's right for every firm, nor every end-client. There are times when simplicity is a suitable option, but when you consider the growth of the profession, the transition to larger SME businesses, creating a unique offering could also be compelling. If advisers are looking at exploring this, important things to consider: 1) Leverage your buying power with DFMs, if they're taking a larger proportion of your CIP, it shouldn't necessarily cost your clients more 2) If your investment ethos is important to you, find a provider who can offer genuinely bespoke models, not re-packaging their existing range 3) Client servicing is paramount, greater transparency, bespoke reporting and accessibility to the investment managers Having specialised in these deals with advisers for the past 3 years, happy to answer any questions: Sarb.thind@binarycapital.co.uk
