On October 29, a roundtable at the Embassy of Korea in Belgium gathered 17 representatives, including ECCK leaders, Ambassador H.E. Ryu Jeonghyun, and top executives from firms like Samsung and Hyundai, for discussions on shared interests and collaborative opportunities. ECCK expressed gratitude for the participation, reinforcing its dedication to supporting Korean business growth in Europe. Earlier, on October 25 in Geneva, ECCK President Stefan Ernst met with EFTA leaders during the ECCK’s White Paper release, which includes over 70 policy recommendations to aid the Korean government’s policies. The meeting focused on economic relations and enhancing EFTA-Korea trade, underscoring South Korea’s importance as a key EFTA partner. 🇲🇴 𝑬𝑩𝑶 𝑴𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒖: Macau European Chamber of Commerce (MECC) celebrated the success of the 29th Macau International Fair (MIF), which concluded last Saturday with a focus on “Economic Diversification and Development Opportunities.” The event featured over 1,300 exhibitors, including top companies and brands from diverse sectors. Representatives from the chamber attended the Biotech Innovation and Sustainability Forum and engaged with officials from IPIM and Hengqin to discuss potential collaborations. The event highlighted Macau's commitment to economic diversification and showcased developments in the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin. 🇲🇳 𝑬𝑩𝑶 𝑴𝒐𝒏𝒈𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒂: EuroChamber Mongolia’s International Trade Working Group met on October 15, 2024, to discuss strategies for importing European goods. Mr. Yeruult Sukh, Co-Chair and CEO of GG Groceries LLC, offered insights for start-ups on niche market entry, pricing, HS code verification, and financial planning. Ms. Chimedlkham Bayarsaikhan, Chair and Director of International Banking at Capitron Bank, then reviewed trade finance options to support importers. On September 11-13, 2024, China will host the 3rd High-Level Conference on Intellectual Property for the Belt and Road initiative countries in Beijing. The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) announced that the event will bring together leaders from approximately 70 intellectual property institutions, with representatives from international and regional organizations, and embassies, totaling around 450 participants. Key topics will include regional cooperation, sustainable development, digital transformation, and strategies to enhance the value of intellectual property. The conference will also feature meetings led by CNIPA, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and the Eurasian Patent Office, focusing on how intellectual property can drive business innovation.
