Without a deep understanding of your employees, identifying appropriate ways to recognize their good work becomes challenging. Why is this problematic? Not only does it result in demotivation, but also discontented opinions can swiftly spread, ultimately tarnishing the company's reputation. When Max encountered this scenario at the year-end company celebration, he promptly reached out to Chill to avert the potential cascade of negative consequences. Join their jurassic journey on Yellow Fellows! 💛 Our case study " Life beyond small talk: how well do you know the real needs of your employees?" is available at the link below 👉 https://lnkd.in/dpB_XvJs #yellowfellows #comics #employerbranding #followtheyellow

December is the Universal Month for Human Rights In 1948 with the memory of World War II still fresh, the United Nations crafted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The very first article states: All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. The document goes on to define what human rights should be respected and protected universally, as well as emphasizing how important it is to do so. One of the most important things you can do throughout the course of this month – and beyond into next year – is to find common ground with the people around you. Human Rights Month is about acknowledging that people of different cultures and creeds are still people.

Third Places Third places is a term coined by sociologist Ray Oldenburg and refers to places where people spend time between home ('first' place) and work ('second' place). They are locations where we exchange ideas, have a good time, and build relationships. I am forever grateful for my third place, my WIL sisterhood, no matter where we are (virtually or in person). Because, to me a third place isn’t necessarily a physical place, but rather the people that make it a brave space. I am grateful to have attended FOCUS St. Louis seminar discussing just this with kKristen Sorth, Ronke Faleti, Emma Klues, and Jody Sowell. Moderated by the ever engaging Harlan B. Hodge. A few key takeaways: •We need to have places like the Missouri History Museum where we can have civil yet difficult discussions of differing pov -Jody Sowell •We need to be disciplined about not letting conveince replace connection -Ronke Faleti #thirdplaces #community #difficultconversations #bravespaces
