This video we captured shows a real-life scenario where a zone on a fire alarm control panel starts to emit smoke. While a smoking fire panel is definitely cause for concern, it doesn't necessarily mean a fire emergency. Here's what could be happening: • Component Failure: A malfunctioning circuit board or faulty component within the zone could be generating smoke. • Electrical Short: A short circuit within the panel could be causing electrical components to overheat and smoke. • External Smoke Intrusion: In rare cases, smoke from another source might have infiltrated the panel enclosure. Your fire alarm is your first line of defence against smoke and fire - don't take it for granted. Make sure it’s working properly by testing it today. It only takes a few seconds and could make all the difference in an emergency. Taking a few moments to check your fire alarm could save lives, including your own. · Test Monthly: Press the test button to ensure it's working. · Change Batteries: Replace batteries at least once a year. · Replace Alarms: Smoke alarms should be replaced every 10 years. · Clean Regularly: Dust and dirt can affect performance – make sure to keep the alarm clear. · Check Connections: If you have interconnected alarms, make sure they’re all working together. If one alarm detects smoke, all alarms should sound. Find out more: www.aspray.com #FireSafety #SmokeAlarm #TestYourAlarm #HomeSafety #FirePrevention
