What factors do you think influence the costs associated with software development for startups? It's crucial to have a detailed understanding of these costs to ensure your innovative ideas don't fall victim to budget mismanagement. 🚀 The article I came across outlines the various stages of software development—like design, coding, testing, and deployment—and how each one impacts your financial planning. One key takeaway is that financial issues are cited as a reason for 16% of startup failures. Prioritizing your budget effectively can enhance your project’s chances of success. Exploring MVPs, outsourcing, and leveraging open-source solutions can also lead to significant cost savings while maintaining quality. Have you implemented any of these strategies in your startup? I’d love to hear your experiences and thoughts! 💬 https://lnkd.in/dmU64EzU

I ran a startup studio which consulted by building tech for 50+ startups over 6 years. These 3 steps are the most common advice I gave to anyone wanting to build software: Do it. Document it. Then Automate it. Once you think you have the solution to a potential customer’s problem, the wrong move is to run off to raise some money, hire a team build lots of software and try to launch it 6–18 months later… The right move is to solve that problem today. Ideally for money. Then you solve it again. And again. Read the full post in the link:

I have seen numerous startup founders and small businesses shelve their software product building plans, because the development costs of building an MVP is too high And here are some truisms about building medium to complex software products · The proverbial full stack developer that can build a full product single handedly is a myth. You need a diverse team · In case you find that super person, the chances are that person will receive job offers that are far more attractive that what you can give and can leave you in the lurch at any time. · Getting a team of remote developers from low-cost sources to get the job done is hard and complex unless you have technical skills too · No code platforms have limitations. They are good to quickly build a demo, but you need much more to build a production quality MVP that customers can use. · Even if one reaches the MVP stage after clearing all these hurdles, initial customers ask for different capabilities, requiring the technology team to stay and keep adapting the product to the generic version. · And building the software using AI is not a near term alternative. Here is the best alternative. · Build your product using low code platforms (not no code platforms) · And choose a vendor with a proven history of building products for other entrepreneurs · Ensure that the terms are founder friendly (especially in areas like IP and source code) and the budgets are. By using low code platforms to build the product, you are ensuring that · The effort to build the product takes 5x to 10x less effort · You are working on a proven environment that already has a good built-in architecture, has good utilities for administration, meets good security standards, has a user interface that customers are happy with – saving a lot of effort and time · You can iterate easily as you get feedback from stake holders and customers · There is little code to be managed reducing future technology debt. But are there low code vendors who are affordable, ensure that the terms are IP and source code friendly and are flexible in their payment terms? Finding one that meets all of the above criteria is hard. But I do know one option www.Stragiliti.net Stragiliti has built numerous products for startup founders in US, Canada, Singapore, and India in the past, and meet all the above criteria. They build products for you using the Stragiliti low code platform at affordable and founder friendly terms. Disclaimer: This post is from the founder of Stragiliti. And am happy to also organize a no obligations session (only to founders) to discuss your startup further. Get in touch either by replying on the comments or asking for a demo at www.Stragiliti.net

Over 90% of the software developed never reaches market adoption. This is the reason true MVP building is critical for startup success. It is extremely hard to let go of a product you have been losing sleep over for months and develop a "simple solution" that might lack in your opinion "most" of the product's vision. But understanding that the market, not your preferences is what ultimately decides the product you need is the key to achieving adoption, market fit, and growth. In this article by Fraktal Software Technologies we dive into points every startup should consider before investing resources in building an MVP. Start small, launch fast, focus on ONE pain point, measure, adapt.
