Our pursuit of creating “elite” athletes might be doing quite the opposite… We may just be incentivizing being good enough in order to chase the next opportunity. Without the love of the sport, the drive and willingness to overcome whatever stands in the way, there will be no “elite”. Development comes long before the pursuit of elite.
