We’re seeing companies downsizing and cutting back on costs due to cash flow issues. Please consider immediate impacts and wider impacts too. Here’s some ways your business can save costs: 1. Review your service agreements, including telephones: there may be more cost effective plans on the market 2. Scaling work back: if there is less for employees to do, consider cutting hours and reducing pay. ⚠️- caution- this can be a breach of terms of contract unless the employer can follow lawful variation of contract processes. This cannot be imposed, however, the employer can excessive the reduction of work clause if included in contracts. Always consult a HR professional before approaching this solution 3. Consider outsourcing services: agencies are a great way to fill vacancies on fixed terms as opposed to salaried employees. Also, incorporate outsourced advice on retained a basis, such as a HR consultant- this keeps costs down to a minimum without sacrificing the expertise 4. Redundancies may be a viable solution.
