Platforms are finally realizing that if creators win, everyone wins. Snapchat’s new unified revenue program for Stories and Spotlight is another step toward making monetization more accessible for all creators — not just the biggest names. This shift mirrors moves by TikTok, YouTube, and others to rethink creator funds and ad revenue sharing. For too long, monetization models have favored the top 1% of creators. But the reality is, if you want to keep creators on your platform, you need to support the millions of micro-influencers who drive organic engagement. #CreatorEconomy #InfluencerMarketing #Monetization #Snapchat #TikTok #YouTube #MicroInfluencers

Smart move on their part, but part of me thinks too little too late for Snap. Clearly a way to incentivize more creators to post, but they don't have the discovery engine that TT or YT have. Makes IG CEO Adam Mosseri's comments earlier this year - about how paying creators would be "negative ROI" for them - more stark. IG has captured the NFX of friend and family, and as the platform-of-record for life updates, can afford NOT to pay creators. "People will post anyways" is the sentiment. Snap is clearly thinking the opposite, and is looking to compete in the discoverability realm - hope they have enough GPUs on their balance sheet!
