New perspectives, lots of learnings, friends from across the industry and a heap of business cards. The recent Passenger Terminal EXPO & CONFERENCE ✈️ in Frankfurt did not disappoint. Reflecting back upon this year's conference, key insights for me include: ✈️the opportunity to integrate AI into every area of airport operations is vast, from operations and safety to ticketing to the customer experience, and over time we will develop systems that anticipate what passengers require and delivers this seamlessly ✈️there are incredible initiatives being delivered that focus on balancing sustainability with growth - for me the trick will be the creation of metrics and tools that embed sustainability into the airport DNA ✈️that no matter how smart we get with AI, as an industry we need talented, knowledgeable teams to unlock the potential for airport terminals of the future ✈️there's no substitute for experiencing first-hand the phenomenal developments taking place at the world's leading airports ✈️it's important to wear comfortable shoes! Last month, event industry CEOs met at Pavyllon on Park Lane for the final AEO International Dinner of the year, focussing on France. Sponsored by Fusion Events, the attendees were welcomed by AEO’s international organiser group, vice chair Damion Angus from Montgomery Group, and Eric Pierrejean from JEC Composites.
