From 1 January 2024, it is mandatory for employers to provide 5 days of statutory sick pay leave per annum. Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) is a payment made by employers to employees who are unable to work due to illness or injury. The SSP amount is 70% of the employee's normal pay, capped at a maximum of €110 per day.
